Taormina lounge

The food is good (7/10), just average for Italian food. Easy dishes like the salads and antipastos are very delicious. Pasta was very good, and the fresh bread was delicious. The main dishes around my entire table were lackluster. Chicken breast was dry, sauce on the veal was strange and too salty, sides like rice or potatoes lacked flavor. Our entire table (12 people) was surprised considering all the other dishes in our meal were very good.

The restaurant itself is very picturesque and beautiful. However there were a few things that seemed 'off' for such a recently renovated resto. Reminiscent of a home that is quickly renovated to appear nice for quick sale but disregards some serious issues. Our visit was in the winter, and there was a major issue with temperature control. Everybody was freezing cold. The bathrooms were especially ice cold and there was no hot water. The cobwebs in the windows were shocking, as if they have not been cleaned in years (with such a view the windows should be kept clean).

The wait staff is very friendly, however the blonde female manager is fake and not very accommodating. She seems to be a highly stressed individual, often scolding her staff in front of the clients (it is obvious) and she insisted that 3 people at our table did not pay the bill. In the middle of a party we had to search for our proof of our credit card payment. I'm not impressed and sadly I will not be returning. Would NOT recommend.
