I ordered take out for new years eve and was very disappointed despite the positive reviews. It might have been an off night for the chefs but nothing ended up being good. We ordered 9 different rolls which gives us a good sample size for their menu. My issues were many: 1. The rolls were terribly made, everything fell apart as soon as it was picked up, even with the most delicate chopstick handling. 2. The rolls had WAY too much cucumber. It was used far too liberally for most rolls and made everything fell cheap. 3. The mayo used was too watery and was dripping out the rolls. 4. They got our order wrong despite clarifying it 2-3 times with the person on the phone. 5. (the most important one) it just didn't taste good.

I can't justify the reviews this place was getting other than maybe having an off night because of the increase in volume from the new years eve people calling for takeout. It shouldn't be a reason to offer bad food, but I'll give the benefit of the doubt that this wasn't their normal performance. That being said, there are far better and far more consistent places, this was a bad...

I have been a customer for over 10 years, usually get take out about once every month. I think the sushi is the best in town, but I am pretty upset right now - my wife came home tonight with our order and 2 rolls were missing (worth about 17$), but charged on our bill. It happens on a fairly regular basis and we know to check our order before leaving the restaurant usually but tonight we didnt... so we called and had pretty bad service on the phone from someone who made us feel like he thought we were lying and just trying to get free food. This is leaving a pretty bad feeling in my gut and I might think twice about ordering at Tri Express again because of this phone conversation. So my 2 cents: check your order throughoutly before you leave or your evening might end up with you feeling very frustrated. I still think the sushi is the best in town but I don't think it's worth the trouble of checking my order everytime and having to deal with that kind of conversation afterwards making me feel like a thief when I'm not even the one who made a mistake, except the mistake of not...

Présentation is nice and restaurant has an eclectic decor. Unfortunately I did not get to enjoy much fish as it was too well hidden in a pile of fried tempura bits and mayonnaise. Maybe I was expecting a more typical sushi restaurant where fresh fish is the star of the meal. Nearly every single roll tasted the same and had this tempura batter/mayo combo in it. We ordered the 15 piece per person shared meal expecting some variety but alas it all tasted the same whether it was the famous pizza or the tartar (where none could tell what the main ingredient was) or the 5-6 kinds of rolls that followed. Waiters were nice enough but maybe too scarce and thin as the fish in our dishes. This sushi restaurant caters probably to a more tempura batter/mayo/drown the sashimi in sauce crowd than a fresh seafood taste/go easy on...

Hole in the wall type resto - small seating, cozy environment and amazing food! The chef/owner is always behind the counter orchestrating everything! He has his eye on every table ensuring everyone is having a pleasant time. I love this restaurant because he has his own creations and he serves them well. Presentation is beautiful. Seating is a bit cramped, but it adds to the experience. This is a resto you should take your friends or relatives that are coming out of town to. Especially if they like sushi. It was surely impress. Note: my partner doesn’t eat fish at all. There was one filet mignon item on the menu and it got his seal of approval 🙂 i guess that says alot! Thank you chef tri! Ps: make a reservation on Friday and Saturday or else you’ll be stuck waiting in line! Ps2: posted english menu pictures!

The sushi is unique and offers a modern take on the Japanese classic. We enjoyed many different rolls as well as the sashimi tuna. The quality of the rolls was top notch. The biggest complaint about this place was that there was absolutely no attention to service. Waiters would drop off your dish abruptly, forget to come back to take your next order, forget items you've ordered, etc. There's absolutely no ambiance you'd find in many other sushi restaurants.

This place is a pure delight. From the tacky decorations that covers the entire restaurant, to the friendly staff, to the DELICIOUS sushis, you can’t go wrong at Tri Express. Most probably the best sushi in town, and very affordable for the quality you get. The tasting menu is a great option for your first time there. You won’t be disappointed! Oh, and their Tri Sauce is so good, you won’t want soy sauce with your sushis ever again.
