Wendy's — Restaurant in Montreal

I went there tonight on the 5th of February at 22:13 to order some take out. The person that answered me at the drive-thru told me that their system had a problem and asked me to order inside. I parked my car and went in to be greeted by a young employee who made it seem that coming at that time was a bother to him. He was on his phone and came up to me to tell me that the store was closing in 15 minutes while still on his phone. Store says it was closing at 23:00. It looked like he wanted to shoo me away until I told him that it was going to be a to-go order. I asked him for two "bacon portabello mushroom fromage fondant" burger. It looked like it was on promotion and I wanted to try it. I got it with a poutine and a coke. I was given the coke in a white coffee logo-less cup and was told that this was the new small cups. I thought the cashier was joking at first but he was serious. The lid that they gave me didn't even fit the "small cup". When I got back in my car to place it in my cup holder, it spilled out. The burger itself was made with what tasted like stale bread, it wasn't hot (I would have been fine if it was just slightly warm), the sauce tasted old (maybe fermented?) and the overall taste wasn't appetizing at all. The poutine was fine. My overall experience of this place was mediocre at best. Maybe they were having a bad day or the grill wasn't working properly tonight. Maybe the young employee had an early class tomorrow and just wanted to be home early to sleep. Who knows. Won't be coming back for a while, might give it another chance again in a few months. It used to be a good nice clean place, pre-pandemic.

I came back due to nostalgia, but was extremely disappointed. Food was slow, they lost half of my order, then thought I didn't pay for it which they had no idea because their printer was not working. The cashier was clearly in training so I was willing to give some slack. BUT.

Place was dirty when I tried to find a spot while waiting.

Once the food did arrive, the fries were cold and soggy, and the container was barely full with no fries sticking out. Significantly worse than mcdonalds. The burgers I got were tiny and didn't look anything like the picture. Price was very high for the quality I got.

Extremely disappointing experience. Hope they sort things out and go back to the Wendy's I once knew.

Edit 2 weeks later I came back. Ordered crispy spicy chicken. This time the burger tasted great and the fries were warm and crunchy.

Points that remain though: fountain drink machine was broken, only nestea available.

This place is usually slow and chaotic seems to be filled with people who either don't know what they are doing or don't care to seem professional but I never complain as long as I eventually get my food. I felt the need to write a review because of the extreme unprofessionalism I've witnessed today. Two employees we confronting a group who walked in the store. One black boy and another who is tall and possible Arab. I heard the N-word out of BOTH of their mouths! Saying this in front of paying customers is a disgrace. Even worse the Arab boy was telling one of the boys from the group to wait for him cause his shift is almost done (this happened around 5:20 pm) so they can fight outside. It was the most absurd thing I've seen in a long time and if I wasn't running 20 mins late I would have asked to speak to the manager! Disgusting! Also the fries I ordered were...
