Yamato Dumpling — Restaurant in Montreal

VERY disapointing. Order Pork and rice. Received dumplings. The Dumplings were boiled, not fried, basically tastess. I paid almost 20 dollars. so overcharged un top of it. I called back, but the lady could or woulnd not speak french. If you look at their website, you'll be VERY disapointing as NONE of the pictures have anything to do with that place. I asked to use the restroom, but it was out of fonction (as assume too dirty for guests) and asked for a glass of whater, the glass was very small and the the water was not cold. Avoid This is a new little restaurant in the Village! I know this is a dumpling place, but I had a rage for a Genereal Tao, to go! The food and service was great. Pity the patio was not open, the restaurant spice needs a bit of fine tuning and this is no wine service. I will definitelty to back and try those...

Last Saturday, my family went to Yamato Dumpling for dinner, and we were pleasantly surprised by the quality of the food. We ordered four different types: Beef with Onion, Beef with Coriander, Pork with Cabbage, and a Vegetarian option that included cabbage, vermicelli, and carrot.

All of the dumplings were delicious, but the beef varieties stood out the most. The Beef with Onion and Beef with Coriander dumplings were especially flavorful — juicy, well-seasoned, and not dry at all. Even our two picky kids enjoyed the meal, which says a lot about the taste and quality.

Although Yamato Dumpling just open at the time of our visit and simple settings, the food was already impressive. In addition, the price was also reasonable. We’re looking forward to going back soon to try more items from their menu. This restaurant is definitely a new favorite...

These dumplings tasted great, I especially appreciate that this restaurant has invested in quality take out containers, my food arrived piping hot even while being in a delivery queue. The chili dipping sauce was my favorite and more mild than I was anticipating, but I'd like to leave a suggestion to the restaurant, the sauce spilled out entirely in the dumpling box because this type of thin plastic doesn't hold lids tightly, when they're placed inside this larger dumpling box, it shakes around during delivery and this dark red chili oil makes it messy to eat if it's been spilled and tossed around...
