Arrow Lake Tavern Bar & Lounge — Restaurant in Nakusp

We went to the restaurant for dinner and it was one of our worst experiences. The food was average, the saddle stack burger was so dry and did not taste good. The service was horrible. We waited for over 40 minutes and there was no signs of our food. We went to check with the server and she did not bother to check with the kitchen for us, the only answer we got was nothing she could do. around 30 minutes later (over one and a half hours of waiting), finally our food arrived. The server put down our food rudely like we did something wrong to her. All we did was asking when we expected our food since we need to catch a ferry to our camp sites. One of our food did not go with the sauce for the sweet potatoes so my husband was asking for it and asked if we can had a little extra sauce. The server told us that it was all they gave to the customer except we paid for more. At this point, we did not want to bother with their services so we only asked for the sauce that was not came at the first place. The server came out with the sauce and a bit extra on the side but the texture looked weird and with her attitude earlier, we were afraid to touch that. WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THIS RESTAURENT. Absolutely beautiful place to eat. Food was great in concept but everything we ordered was slightly over cooked. We had the Firecracker Prawns which were supposedly pan seared, but did not have any searing on them, they seemed to have been poached in the lime cilantro broth (too thin for a sauce) instead. They were overcooked, rubbery and did not have any flavour infused in them. The concept of the dish was perfect, the broth was delicious, but should have been reduced in order for it to be considered a sauce, and the prawns should have been actually seared with lime zest, garlic and pepper before meeting with the reduced sauce. The execution just fell flat especially considering we paid almost as much for these 8 prawns as we paid for the entree. We both had burgers, and again there was an issue with the execution. The toppings and sauces were absolutely delicious but both of our patties were hugely overcooked, to the point where they were dry and flavourless, like eating a kitchen sponge. Generally speaking burgers are hard to mess up, but some how the cook here totally failed. It is very disappointing to see a beautiful burger being ruined. So first off I am a local and me and my boyfriend only eat at this restaurant and have spent thousands of dollars there. The bar staff and waitresses are all amazing too!! However some of the cooks not so much. Ordered a beef burger on takeout which when I got home and started eating turned out to still be raw!!! Complained and took it back. They wouldn't give me a refund but did say I could have any free meal on the house next time. So a few days later go for my free meal and for takeout again. The cook refused to box my meal to go. So the bartender ended up doing it herself. Oh also a dishwasher who was off shift and eating his own meal offered to go box the meal himself. (Thank you to both the bartender and the dishwasher, you both are amazing!!) But not impressed with the kitchen at all!! What is the difference in putting it into a box instead of a plate??!! Oh wait there isn't but the cook absolutely refused. 2 bad meals and the rudeness from the cook has left a bad taste in my mouth and I won't be back for food anytime soon!!
