Noodlebox — Restaurant in Nanaimo

My husband and I were excited when we discovered a Noodlebox had opened in the north end so we went for supper a couple of weeks ago. I have a gluten allergy so I ordered what I usually order from NB as I have had the same dish downtown and in Victoria with no issues. It took forever for the food to be prepared and as we waited we observed the young lady that was taking the orders also preparing the take out. She was handling the till, handling cash and putting salad into the take away boxes with her bare hands and not once did we observe her wash them before handling the food. We finally received our food and it was piping hot but as I ate mine I noticed a very big difference between it and what I have previously had at other locations. It had the correct amount of spice but was completely bland and watery, it had no flavour at all as I think they forgot to include the coconut milk. Normally I would have complained but by that point I was extremely hungry and had eaten half, plus I paid an extra $3.50 to have chicken added and found maybe an ounce of chicken in the entire dish. When the hostess asked us how our meal was I told her and she apologized saying that they had new cooks that night and did offer to have it remade, but by that point it was busy and we didn't feel like waiting a long time again so I declined. She actually gave us a $5 off our next meal coupon but I won't be using it as she was the only one that seemed to have any competence there and I just learned that she has quit. Next time I want Noodlebox I guess I will have to brave going downtown because I'm not going to throw my money away at...

This location is an absolute embarrassment to the franchise. This is one of my all time favourite faster food franchises. This one in particular is absolutely horrendous. They tried to get away with hiding the fact they put about 1/10th of the amount of beef required by putting it in a to go container. Even though we were clearly planning to dine in. After pouring it out on to a plate it was noticed that there was zero beef in the dish. I immediately brought it to their attention and she argued with me about there being “some beef”. She even went as far as to touch the one piece with her dirty finger. I immediately told her I wanted a refund as this is not the first time this has happened. She fought and fought with me about refunding and then she tried to actually CHARGE my card again as opposed to refunding. Thank god I noticed and instead demanded I was paid in cash. No body said sorry, nobody tried to make it right, they all tried to say I was in the wrong. I will never go to this establishment ever again and I recommend you don’t either. If they’re trying to save money by not giving you meat, what else are they trying to save money on? If I was the owner of something as good as Noodlebox and I found out one of my prime locations was trying to skim off the top by cutting ingredients, I would be livid. I hope someone more important then the arrogant manager of the location sees...

I thought I was in for a treat. This was my very first noodle box and it sounded scrumptious. However, now I come from the past to warn you in the future. I wouldn't feed this to a dog and I don't even think the dog would eat it if I tried. This is the worst food I have ever tasted in my life. It's actually impressive how how many ingredients are put into here for each one of them to taste terrible! Not even the peanut tasted like a peanut and I ordered a crispy chicken Thai box. It was just awful and in total I paid 18 bucks and I have to warn you do not eat here. It's the worst food I may have ate in my entire life and I've ate everywhere tried everything. I don't even want a refund or I'm sorry. I just want to forget I ever went here and that it exists. I'll never be back here in my entire life and you shouldn't either. It's that bad. Rarely do I hand out a terrible review. The service was fine. The servers were great. The bathroom was clean but I showed up during a Saturday dinner rush at 6:00 p.m. and nobody was in here. That was the warning sign that I chose to ignore and I knew better. Nobody is coming here to eat on purpose. There was three tiny soggy nuggets of chicken. Absolutely awful. I honestly gave it all I had. I got about halfway and I just couldn't even stomach it. This was terrible. I'm sorry I ever found this place....
