I and two of my girlfriends were there at the end of a long weekend and were sad to leave town to get back to the daily grind. Starving, we came across this place for a grab to eat. I am not going to lie to you: they had food. Lots of it , appetiser and such, pub fare and steak, but my eyes were drawn towards the butterchicken. Comes with naan, rice and sauteed veggies spicy enough so you could easily pair it with one of the three IPA's they have (over 10 beers on draft :)). It was the best butterchicken I've ever had, and I've had plenty before! My hunger soon faded away, but the plate was still holding a good portion of the dish which I had packed to go. I took that as a souvenir to my husband. I had not thought to buy him an IPA, he is man enough to already have some in the fridge. As he tasted the butterchicken he almost started crying: I can't believe you shared this food with me, it's sooo good! Obviously I am joking! No word was uttered, he ate it all in a few large bites, hunched protectively over the plate, and when I touched his shoulder to ask him if he likes it as much as I did, I think he growled at me before saying yes. Almost forgot, I also had a Greek salad which tasted fresh. The pub is pretty big and aired, with plenty of room between tables, large TV screens, and the 80's collection that played through our sitting made it a memory to keep. Our server was friendly and helpful as my girlfriends ordered the steak and they looked happy with...
ย ย ย Read moreI recently attended a work gathering at Old City Station Pub. We were a large group that filled the upper section of the pub (on wing night)! We had two servers and one of them was quite new...(Hannah?). The servers were fantastic, I was impressed with Hannah as she mentioned at the beginning of the event that she was new. She was so friendly and always happy to help us (even when we were demanding). It was a very... VERY busy night and the wait time for food and drinks was longer than expected. our servers explained to us that they had a few people call in sick. Unfortunately, part of my group was not understanding of this BUT I want to give a shout out to all the people who worked that night. We could see all of you running around trying to keep everyone happy... you did a great job! My co-worker had to leave before her food came out and the bar manager took care of her entire bill. He was very busy but took the time to talk with us upstairs, he even brought us some beer! The food was worth the wait, best wings ever! I was also very happy to see they had Fat Tug! The night wasn't perfect but the food and drinks were great and the service was some of the best I've ever had. I have never been in such a busy environment where the employees were all so friendly. I will definitely be...
ย ย ย Read moreNormally Old City Station is pretty good, but this past Wednesday we had a terrible experience here. Me and my buddies have been coming here every Wednesday for wings and beers a long time now, as I stated earlier normally itโs quite good. Yesterday however we waited an hour for our wings and when I received my plate they were ice cold and raw in the middle. I complained and was not even given an apology the waitress rudely grabbed them from me and stormed off to the kitchen (another plate was brought out). The wings that were cooked did not live up to the normal standard, the portion sizes were much smaller and made with poorer quality sauce than normal. If this wasnโt bad enough one of us ordered a 12 ounce sleeve of beer, we were brought a 20 ounce. When we informed the waitress about the mistake and that our friend only wanted to pay for a 12 ounce glass she insisted that even though she had made the mistake management said we had to pay the 20 ounce price because the drink had already been poured. The staff was incredibly rude and slow the whole night (not the typical staff we normally see, perhaps some new hires).
What happened old city???? Our group will be finding elsewhere for our Wednesday...
