Carnation Chinese Restaurant — Restaurant in New Brunswick

We have typically supported this restaurant fairly regularly - food is generally good though often when I have ordered sweet and pungent chicken or hot and sour soup they don't have it/won't make it. The service has been ok sometimes and other times poor but today they lost our business entirely. This was, by far, the worst restaurant experience I have ever had! We arrived at 4:30, ordered by 4:40-4:45 (combo plates so the order was not unusual) & still were not served our food by 6. We were ignored by our waitress for an entire hour until we flagged her down to ask, no explanation, no apology...tables who arrived to the restaurant, seated and ordered after we were already waiting about 45 mins were served their food (also combo plates)...upon leaving, the manager refused to come out of the back to discuss the issue...that sir, is poor management. A sweet long time waitress there (not the one who was assigned our table sadly) was apologetic at that point at least and bravo to her for offering some semblance of customer service . We will...

Its unfortunate that a place that has such a decent reputation treat a returning customer in the fashion Carnation has. My wife and I ordered our food. There was a family of 12 or 13 ahead of us, already seated waiting for their food. There may have been one other couple ahead of us besides that. We ordered our food. Seventy-five minutes later we were still waiting. In the meantime the large group had been served, along with the couple ahead of us, as well as two or three groupings that came in after us. We talked to the waiting staff, we were asked to hold on.. 10 more minutes passed.. still no food or explanation.. My wife got up to leave and I asked to speak to the manager... he refused to come and talk to me.... twice!!! Carnation... you have lost two repeat...

My wife and I stopped by this restaurant tonight for supper. We ordered the Dinner for Two and decided to add the Wonton Soup. I will say the regular size soup is rather big and was absolutely great. The wontons were very tasty and the broth was also full of flavour. This wonton soup even comes with sliced pork in addition to wontons and chives. The egg roll was pretty good, especially if you like egg rolls containing more meat than vegetables. The rest of the meal was overall very good. The rice and chicken chow mein was good, while the chicken balls were great (nice and crispy with a good sized chicken chunk). The fried wontons were also very well done - crispy and tasty. The coffee wasn't very good, but certainly didn't take away from the meal, as I drank it...
