Joe Chow's — Restaurant in New Glasgow

I placed an order for takeout which included Sweet n Sour Chicken and egg rolls. When I arrived home I discovered that although I got the chicken balls and egg rolls they neglected to put any sauce either on the chicken or in a separate container for me to put on at home. They also did not include any plum sauce for the egg rolls. When I called and explained the issue I was asked if I could come and get it. Since I live 23 minutes from the establishment I declined to do that. Then I was advised that they would put my name in their book and on my next visit they would give me a credit.......a credit of One whole dollar (apparently that is what they charge for the sauce). I have decided to counter their One dollar offer and will never order from their establishment again. Much like other low star reviews, the food may be good but for a place so busy and so re-nowned by the town there needs to be changes. A Chinese dine in/take out should never take longer than 30 mins regardless of being busy. As a first time customer being told 25-30 minutes, paying at the 30 minute mark while freshly seated dine in customer start to order their meals, end up waiting an hour while those dine ins are already being served their plates before my order was out of the kitchen, is unbelievable. No check in while waiting assuring it is coming soon or anything. No matter how good the food may have been, sushi delight, China boat and lins will always come before joe chows and even then, I’ll cook at home.

Ps. Laughed at when I tried to inquire very politely if dine in May have been prioritized over take out. (Only like 5 tables seating 4...

Best Chinese food east of Enfield since Ming's closed. I drive an hour and fifteen minutes to eat here and it is always everything I hope for. I haven't tried much of the menu, usually I get the number one and a spring roll which is delicious. If you're getting take out get your sauce on the side for the sweet and sour chicken, it keeps them crispy. Only bad things to say are that there is usually lots of people and its fairly small so it can be awkward to maneuver to get your food and pay, and that once I went there at an hour to close and they were sold out of food.
