Did a online order for pickup. An hours notice I gave them. I arrived about 8 minutes before my pick up time. I watched the grill put my burger up on heat table about 2 mins later. It sat there for another 4 mins until I was greeted. She pulled the burger off the heat table to complete with toppings I ordered. I had ordered extra cheese and bacon which hadn't put on the order, I told I had paid for it and she said that it was on there. I disagreed about he only thing I could see, the cheese and she begrudgingly put a cold piece on top of the tomatoes. Then she wrapped the burger and put it in the bag and put my fries and onion rings in there also. She passed me my order and I said I ordered a shake and 4 little donuts. She said they don't do shakes and offered another drink which I didn't want. She then had to put my food on the heat table again because the donuts weren't even been cooked. So my food was on and off the heat table for another 4 minutes whilst they did the donuts. 12 minutes my food sat there. The assumed manager came out to refund the shake, he said the shake machine was broken but the girl said they don't do shakes. Anyhow I was home in less than 5 minutes, fries and rings were free in the bag as she had put the carton in sideways. Fries were soggy and undercooked and the onion rings were salty and inedible. The burger was cold and a mess. 2 bites and into the compost it went along with the onion rings. The donuts were like a timbit and deep frayed. They were way overdone and also went into the garbage...I used to love Harveys but this experience was bad and it's funny at the same time while reading previous reviews. Funny how all the reviews that were done by Indians or Pakistani, were glowing with praise about the service and the excellent food, and all the reviews from non above people were 1 star for exceptionally bad service and terrible food. I thought I was in the Tim Hortons here in New Minas because it the exact same story, poor service and incorrect orders and bad food. Harveys used to be a great burger chain but since the influx of these workers in food establishments the quality and service has gone from a 10 to a 1. Institutions have lost the focus on their customers and are more worried about cutting operational costs (labour wage rebates) and turning a blind eye to the customers. I'm sorry for the long rant but I've had enough of this sort of practice out there.
Update: Just received the standard robot answer to go to a website and submit a review....we all know...
Read moreWhen I have a bad experience with a place, I almost always give a 2 star review. This is because no place can be all bad, right? Well, that's what I USED to think. The wife and I went here this past Sunday and it was a dreadful experience. There were only two people working at lunch time on a weekend (issue 1). This is not the fault of the staff, that's a management issue. The staff was EXTREMELY slow and obviously unqualified to do the job (issue 2). The guy in the back was in slow motion, and I am not being facetious. He was literally going at a crawling pace. I ordered (2 burgers and a small fries) That took 20 minutes (issue 3) for him to "make", then as he was dressing the burgers, he looked at the order, walked over to the fryer and put the fries in to cook...after our burgers were done. I have never in my life seen a more useless employee, nor one who cared less about, well, anything, as far as I could tell. He gave me the burgers and told me the fries would be a few minutes. I took the burgers, annoyed but hungry, and sat down with my wife. We both dug in and, after the first bites, we both looked at each other in horror. We're talking inedible (issue 4). How a burger can be cold and hot at the same time is a mystery, but this place managed it. I stood up, threw the burgers in the trash where they belonged, and we walked out and went straight to Burger King. $20 for junk that a dog wouldn't eat. We never saw the fries and I will never see the inside of this "restaurant" again. Management should be ashamed of themselves and if there's a corporate entity that oversees this brand, you might want to step in before this place ruins your reputation...
Read morehaven't been in person, the reviews make me want to keep my minds image of the place that, but I order online decently and I like it a lot, especially when I have the munchies. I usually just get a chicken wrap and my fiance gets whatever he gets. I do really like the food. I think i tried a salad once and the lettuce sucked, but nothing tops my salads so i just have high expectations. That and it tasted like the lettuce was ready to be let go. I would rate 4 stars because of the salad but this poor place needs some love. The food is decent as is, but the staff is low effort. Online therapy is free loves, tell them why you wont make the shakes :(
Real note though, im from the US and where i lived this place would do great. I dont know where you guys eat to get the high expectations for fast food, but i wish i knew lol
Edit April 7th 2:20 pm Now Harveys why :( I just happily ordered my wrap, and not to wrap shame, but its small. I usually order more at dinner time, so maybe morning/afternoon shift is where the reviews come from lol. I ordered double cheese, extra lettuce, two tomatoes, and one pickle for the crispy chicken wrap. Usually I have a pretty big wrap. Now that its small, it doesnt hit the same. And the tip was bready. Im not a bread lover, so i got rid of it. I was left with a small little guy and no tip. It's still good, but now im used to bigger. Demoting you...
