Caribbean Paradise — Restaurant in Newmarket

First time going and got chicken roti (btw it's the trini style, so big and square. I'd wait for it to cool a little before eating it too) Portion size so big I ate one third and im ready for hibernation. I'm so warm and full I feel like a fat happy bear cub. Flavors were awesome, a good spice to it, full bodied curry, potato that tastes Iike it was marinated in that sauce in the ground before it even got to the restaurant, and chicken so succulent ill never go vegan..sorry 🤷🏼‍♀️ also a regular came in while I was waiting and even though he hadn't been there in over a year, the guy taking his order remembered his name and everything. They chatted for a bit, talked about their families growing (new babies and the likes) and work, before he put in his order. Love me a place that remembers their customers and has a good repore with them. So cozy :3

I recently visited this restaurant for the first time. I found the staff member friendly and helpful. I was told that my order would take 20 minutes. After 50 minutes, the order was not ready. I understand that sometimes schedules are derailed. However, at no point was there an apology offered. I stood there waiting for ages without anyone even making eye contact with me, let alone giving me an update on my order. Many patrons came and went during this time. Then when I requested a refund, this was not forthcoming. The request for a refund had to be made five or six times before it was granted. I drove a significant distance but left empty-handed. Very disappointing experience. Unfortunately, I will not set foot in this establishment again, and I feel obliged to spread the word to others so that they do not patronize this...

One of my favourite meals is Roti and I’ve had roti from multiple restaurants and most places the roti taste the same amazing ! I thought today I would try this place and it’s the worst most terrible Roti I have ever had. It’s not even roti it’s gravy in what I would call dough not roti. I was so disappointed ☹️. Absolutely terrible. To the owner go try roti from a real Caribbean restaurant or maybe look up a recipe because what your selling is gravy with curry powder added to it. Unfortunately I will never recommend or order from here again. I was so excited I’ve been in hospital 17 days and I was so excited for this meal. Well you live and learn and it’s worth the extra 10 min drive to get real roti not gravy on a patti. Don’t waste your...
