Fionn MacCool's — Restaurant in Newmarket

My husband and I were frequent patrons at Fionn MacCool's and unfortunately had a very bad experience last night, leaving us dissatisfied and frustrated. We were there 45 minutes and still didn't get our food and all we ordered was a burger and fries. It was not busy and when I asked why it was taking so long the response was that there were alot of Uber orders. What the ? does that have to do with it? I don't blame the waitress because she was great and apologized and told the BLONDE Manager we were frustrated and she didn't even care, and didn't take the time (a few seconds) to come to our tabe to apologize. We continued to wait and finally said cancel the order. The Manager left the food on the bill and I just paid with my Visa and then I realized she didn't take the food off the bill so I confronted her and she gave me some cash back (not all) and I just left, very frustrated. I've had issues with her service before and I thought she was a waitress, certainly not a Manager. One time I ordred the Guiness Steak and Mushroom Stew and there were literally 2 small pieces of beef in it and when I told "blondy" she said "it happens sometimes if the cook doesn't stir the pot" and that was it! Really?! It didn't even come close to the Guiness cottage pie at the Crow's Nest. She walks around in a daze most of the time. Anyways, we left and went to Coop's for a much better burger, and will...

Came in today with a reservation of 8. We were sat in the bar area even though we had kids.. fine....our friends were there already woth drinks, but we waited 10 minutes before we were even acknowledged. Bar had 2 guys at it, and 2 other tables, so not busy....took forever to take app orders and food....she (bartender) didn't even say anything, would just stand at the end of our table with a pad of paper.. have no idea what her name was because she never spoke. ..the calamari was soooo salty, and I got the jalo grilled cheese...terrible....it's a bit of spinach dip smeared on a piece of cheese amd bread...we were starving, so just ate and kept quite. She never even came back once to check on us....not even kidding. We had to pile empty glasses and dishes at the end of the table sonshe knew we were done...I repeatedly had to ask for refills on our beers/drinks....the only time she said a word or smiled was when it was time to pay the bill....of course, because the bill combined was 300$...she was tipped accordingly..didn't even take the kids free dinner off, we had to ask for that also ....I'm sure this place has potential, we just had terrible service from her, and for the price of stuff, food should be...

We arrived on Sunday for lunch, walked in , no one to greet us, so we sat in the bar which was EMPTY. No service, so I went to get menus. Finally a bar tender shows up, she doesn't ask if we want anything. Finally a server shows up and we order a draft each. That went pretty well, and we order lunch, Nachos & Lightly dusted wings. The server leaves his tray on the chair and then eventually we had to give it to the bartender. 35 mins or more later our food shows up. We liked the food although we don't really know what the wings were dusted with because they had nothing on them. We order another beer each but not before we had gone dry and no one offered to give us a refill. Did I mention the place was EMPTY. I had to go to a table to get utensils, we order our final beer and we again go dry at the table and when we see our server and ask where they are he shrugged his shoulders and said the bartender was not at her station AGAIN. So we asked for the bill and said good bye. Will not be returning, this was a third attempt because I had a gift card but...
