"Kibo means hope." I have ordered take out from Kibo on a regular basis as they have regular discounts, but chose to dine in with my two daughters who love sushi and eat it often.

Parking: The parking was unfortunately under construction when we came on this particular visit, so we had to park in a side lot and walk over. Usually, there is ample mall parking outside the market doors. We went back a few weeks later and the parking construction has resolved.

Ordering: My daughters are well equipped on what to order and how, but I was unsure. The wait staff were courteous, prompt and available for questions. They explained the menu layout and how to order.

Menu: The menu is thorough with pictures and easily laid out. The menu items are available in a variety of options. For someone who isn't a sushi aficionado, I was able to navigate the menu easily.

Staff: The ladies who helped us with the menu and ordering were delightful, well informed and prompt in their service delivery. It was like a well oiled machine.

Plating: The food came out quickly and at the correct temperature. We were actually surprised at how quickly the food came out! The plating made us want to take pictures.

Food: My daughters ordered hand roles and said they would order them again. We started with the Spicy chicken Kara-age. We all enjoyed the tanginess and crunch. The girls had a salmon hand roll and steamed dumplings. Also good. The sauces and dips were delightful and had my girls going back for more. We enjoyed dinner and will be back again.

Food here is always the best but the service was very disappointing :( The server misunderstood my order so served the wrong menu but I just said ok because I don’t want to let her be in trouble due to her mistake so I was going to have it instead of correcting the order. She didn’t even say thank you for my understanding.. but it was fine. The food contains the wasabi that I couln’t eat so I told her I cannot have it unfortunately. She said every aburi has the wasabi and she even never said sorry for the wrong order until then. She just took the food away with her cold face and I felt not comfortable. I know Korean so I can undertand how she told it to her staff, she said I dont have the food due to wasabi.. she didnt even mention she took the wrong order at the first place. Wish you guys improve the service quality which seems like the only thing you need to get...

This is a regular go to for me and my partner! We love the food here, service is great and the staff are polite and professional. The sushi here is my favourite in all of Newmarket, and I've been to at least 9 other places I can think of off the top of my head. Simply the best!

Our only complaint, especially since I don't finish work until 7 or 8pm, is that we can only ever visit on weekends because they close in the middle of what we consider as prime dinner hours (5–8). The mall itself is open until 8pm during the week.

No idea where or who to suggest this to, but I wonder if it's possible to cordon off the Food Market from the rest of the mall after a certain time, if necessary, to better accommodate these restaurants. Kibo, and I'm sure the rest of the businesses in the market, would profit a lot more if they were able to extend...

I had the soft shell crab app which was amazing! The batter and seasoning is great. I did however find its pairing with tartar sauce a bit odd. I also ordered the 20 piece sashimi platter and the golden dragon roll. The sashimi was hit and miss... the white tuna was very buttery and delicious, but the salmon was too lean and a bit tough. The red tuna was also not the best, however the tilapia was very light and tender. The golden roll was large and tasty. The eel had a stronger torched taste oppose to the typical saturated teriyaki which is a nice switch up. Overall worth it for some items. Especially the soft shell crab. I like their variety on the menu and want to try more.

Came here several times when visiting the mall. It took a couple of visits to find what’s best on the menu. The Udon combo is a real surprise to me. I’m not a big Udon person but my son loves it. I was surprised to find the tempura Udon combo had a full size tempura on the side (not in the Udon noodle soup!) also you can add a sashimi to the combo for a very reasonable price too. So it was the perfect combo for an adult with a small kid. We tried sushi pizza and other appetizers. They were all excellent which is rare for a mall restaurant. The food presentation is especially good. And very reasonably priced in today’s post covid inflation.
