Me and my boyfriend went there this Sunday for lunch as I always wanted to try this location’s Mexican food! The looks were nice and I went there due to the reviews! In our opinion it was very very very average and at some point did not worth the money that we spent comparing to other places that we have tried! Specifically, we ordered “Parrillada for Two” as they stated a small bbq for the table suitable for two people! The portion was fair however the quality was low! The main problem was the way of cooking for all the material in the plate except the chicken. Probably the chicken was the only item that was cooked nicely. Other than that, the beef or the pork were overcooked, cold and hard! Not bad but it could be easily way better!!!! By keeping the dish warm and make the cheese to act instead of just putting it on the beef ( I wouldn’t complain about that just a suggestion as maybe the chef prefers it that way!) I believe the three starts is fair as it was very average and it was interesting to me on how sour cream or other sauces were not offered and we were charged for each sauce including sour cream (maybe I’m the only one that was not charged in other places for hot sauce and sour cream) - and it would be nice to inform the customer about the price while they request it. We didn’t leave hungry as we were extremely exhausted and hungry but I wish it was way better. Our server was a young lady and she was nice so shout out to her (unfortunately I didn’t get a chance to ask her name) Not bad again but unfortunately we won’t return or suggest it. Thank you.

Showed up and waited about 10 minutes to be seated which made no sense because over half the tables were available and there were 6 staff huddled at the counter. When we finally got seated, we could overhear a woman request her bill 3x to 2 different servers. The atmosphere was meh, metal chairs uncomfortable and the food was rubbish. I've eaten a lot of authentic Mexican food and there are some amazing restaurants out there - this ain't it. I got this giant table bbq platter for me and my partner and I asked the server if it was a bbq that we cook our own food on, he said yes. We waited almost 45 minutes for our food to arrive and when it did, it was served on a wooden boat thing and all of the meat was terrible. It was all cold, overcooked, dry and tasteless. They served us pork chops on it that were like cardboard and the steak felt like the 50% off No Frills "expires tonight" special. We couldn't even finish half of it, it was just very poor quality and neither of us have eaten since because we don't feel good. Ontop of that, our bill after tip was almost $90 which is ridiculous for a mall restaurant that has poor service and misleading meals with what seemed like microwaved discount meat. Super unsure how this place has over 4 stars - there are sooo many more amazing Mexican places to eat at. Very disappointed and feeling like we threw $90 away on a meal we hardly ate.

What a lovely hidden gem in Newmarket!! We were on our way to the city because we were craving "good tacos" (if you live in York Region you know there's no good tacos out here lol). I looked up tacos near me and came across La Mexicanada. We decided to give it a try because of the pictures in people's reviews, and boyy am I glad we did! The birria tacos were so moist and flavorful, the corn tortillas were fresh and reminded me of what we'd get in Mexico, and the consome was seemingly simple but bursting with flavor. We also got the esquites and gauc for sides, both nice compadres to the birria. The mango margaritas were made fresh at the counter and tasted amazing and refreshing. It being located in the mall made me a little skeptical at first, but Market & Co usually has pretty good food so we went for it. The atmosphere was nice with ample seating and local Spanish music playing in the background. Service was also quick and top notch even though there was only one guy waiting tables. Highly recommend trying this place if you're in the area... and even if you're not. See.. now I'm craving birria tacos again 😂

4.5!

Food was fresh, tasted excellent, but I just wished the portions were bigger :( All 3 of us were still hungry and had to get external food after.

2 of the 3 dishes we got: 3 crunchy tacos (mild, chicken), and I don’t recall the full name but it was a platter with beef and tortillas. Don’t recall nor did I try the third dish our other friend got.

I read some of the other reviews and wanted to give my perspective. I think the music volume was fine. I could still hear those I sat with. We were also politely asked to enter from their entrance closer to the front. Staff was very welcoming. I did get a sense that there wasn’t clear communication between them sometimes however. My friend made a joke that every time she took a bite, someone would come over to ask how everything was. Staff was attentive, but it was a surprising because I’m pretty sure we were asked about how our meal was at least 6 times and I am not exaggerating this number. They asked us, she made the above joke, took a bite, and someone else asked us again. Can’t say they aren’t passionate about making sure the food is good!

It was a pleasant experience overall. The -0.5 star is because of the communication that can be improved. We asked for the bill and the person who we asked nodded but after waiting about 5 minutes and me staring at someone else who was at the screen at the store front, thinking he was delegated to get us the bill and knew we asked for it, he turned around and noticed I was staring then asked us if we had wanted the bill and only then started getting it ready. So, some communication was lost with who we spoke to originally. We then asked for some takeout utensils from the same person but they then deferred the task to someone else to ask us what we wanted again after we waited for a few minutes, who just quickly spent all of 5 seconds to grab it. I didn’t get this person’s (a man, non pierced one) name but this is just feedback for improvement for him to communicate the customer’s ask better to other members if it’s not his responsibility.

Overall, recommended for fresh and delicious flavor, but be prepared to dish out more $$$ if you want to get full, or stop by another place after to carb up.

For the 3 of us it came up to just under $60 pre-tax and tip.

Note: restaurant wasn’t busy and at...
