Minami Sushi - Newmarket — Restaurant in Newmarket

Best sushi I've had in a very long time. Would have even given them a 6 star review if I could. My only regret is not having ordered a platter as I don't always frequent the area. I'll know better next time ;)

This is their new Newmarket location (the other one is in Aurora which I had also heard rave reviews about). My 1st time trying Minami and decided on the Lunch Roll Combo J - 3 pieces Spicy Salmon + 9 pieces Orangeville roll + salad + miso soup for takeout.

Spicy Salmon Roll: the size of the roll is about a 2cm radius. Haven't seen rolls like these with quality substance (and not rice fillers) in a long time. Even had red tobiko in with the tempura bits. Spicy-ness level was perfect.

Orangeville Roll: Spicy scallop in there with tobiko, avocado, cucumber, salmon on on top with some octopus shavings and avocado. On the saucier side but very tasty and equally presentable.

Excellent service. Thoroughly impressed. Can't wait to make an excuse to visit again! Keep it up Minami! Open up a location in Richmond Hill next...

Was a frequent customer but i guess today is the last time after already giving second chance last time. Got charged full price after I cancelled my order in less than 5 mins. After that, i still decided to give them a chance and order again because i love the sushi from here. Unfortunately, how they treat you as a customer is horrible and unacceptable. This time today, we ordered through uber eats and our order supposed to be here in 50 mins but instead the driver kept waiting for the order which they didn’t even make 2 hours after ordering food. Absolutely ridiculous. I would drive extra mile to go Minami in Aurora to get a good experience and...

Sushi is delicious here every time. For the Aurora location the dine-in experience is just as excellent as their take-out.

I was excited to try their Newmarket location now it’s opened. I got a sushi platter for Father’s day and it came in a boat shaped platter - this was a nice extra touch! as I expected the normal size platter :)
