St. Louis Bar & Grill — Restaurant in Newmarket

Extremely disappointing and slow and overcooked food. Ive been to the location in Vaughan many times and have always been happy. Decided to try this location close to home with the family for the first time. It was a little more than half full when we arrived with most people in the bar area. Waitress was pleasant, took our orders pretty quickly. After that everything went downhill. We didn't see our food for about 40 minutes. Never once did anyone talk to us until our food finally showed. One of my kids had a kids meal burger and my life and daughter shared a meal. I decided to do the all-you-can eat chicken finger promo. Fingers where over cooked and tough as a result (I've had them before and they aren't like this). I reordered a refill on the fingers before I started eating since it had taken long to get our order). Shortly after my kids were falling asleep having been there so long. Asked for the bill, then waited...sent the family to the car to wait while I waited for the bill. Refill of chicken fingers never came (at this point I just cared about going home). Waitress had left the debit machine with me to pay, I paid, stood up and waited a minute but then just left. I was at the Leslie St. location this past Sunday on their patio for lunch. The food (wings & fries) was really great as it always is. HOWEVER, though they seem to have proper protocol in place for handling covid, I was uncomfortable by how the employees "followed" this protocol.

It was good to see when we first arrived that staff were wearing face-masks, tables were 6ft apart, they asked us to sanitize our hands, and even took a name and number for the table (I assume if they needed to let people know of a confirmed case).

As our meal went on, things got more concerning. It started with our waitress wearing her mask under her nose, and then eventually just letting it hang from one ear as she was serving our food. I understand that it was hot outside, but at the least, you could wear it when you are close to our food and us, as you are putting it at our table.

As we were leaving, I noticed another employee start to wipe down the tables of those who recently left. She just sprayed one part of the table with sanitizer and haphazardly wiped it around with paper towel, and did not any part of the chairs at the table.

I was just disappointed to see such a lack of effort at the easiest of things that can make such a difference. I hope that they will be more considerate...

Horrible service… I don’t typically write bad reviews as I’m in the service industry myself but this was just unacceptable. To start, walking in I waited 5 mins to be seated and a couple who walked in after us was helped first. (Understandable).. We sit down and order a tiki madness each, it took 25 minutes to get and wasn’t made with all the ingredients as it was a solid green color (I’ve ordered it before and just wish we were notified as I would’ve ordered something else.) I ordered just chicken strips not wanting the side and was charged 15.99 as if the side was included. My friends chicken on her poutine was overcooked and dry. The server didn’t introduce herself, only had 2 other tables, never asked us how our food was and never brought me my water when I asked for one with the bill. The bartender and cook even came out and wasted time chatting with a table so no wonder why our food and drinks took so long. I got a to go wings and fries for my parents and the wings were toppled on top of the fries so when I got home the fries were soggy. I asked for a bottle of dill sauce to go with it and had to ask for a new one as it was passed the expiry date. So utterly disappointed and a waste of 70$ minus the delicious strawberry daq.. please be...
