BarrelHead at Pillitteri Estates Winery was the ideal spot for our hockey team outing on a beautiful, warm day. We really enjoyed our time here! We ordered a couple of pizzas, and both were absolutely delicious. The Hot Boy pizza brought a fantastic kick; its spicy elements and rich flavors made every bite exciting. After experiencing that bold profile, we felt the High Maintenance pizza, while excellent on its own, would have been even better with an added touch of jalapeños to give it that extra zing. Both pizzas were clearly made with high-quality ingredients and expertly prepared. To complement our food, I had the Carretto Cabernet Franc, which was delightfully smooth with a lovely depth of flavor that paired well with the pizzas. My husband's Market Collection Pinot Grigio was crisp and refreshing, a perfect lighter counterpart. BarrelHead proved to be very family-friendly, but honestly, we can't wait to return without the kids next time to fully savor the experience and the delicious wine. We'll definitely be back!

What a gem! Barrelhead delivers the perfect mix of wood-fired pizza, local wine, live music, and vineyard vibes. 🌿 From the moment we arrived, we were surrounded by the beauty of the vineyard and the warmth of the patio. The pizzas? Absolutely next-level — crispy, creative, and loaded with fresh toppings (that balsamic drizzle and basil combo was a winner!). 🍕🔥 We also couldn’t get enough of the marinated olives and roasted peppers — a simple yet flavorful starter to kick things off. 🍇🫒 Live acoustic tunes set the scene while the sun dipped behind the cherry trees — yes, they grow cherries here too (but don’t pick them 😉). 🌅🎶 Whether you're here for the food, wine, atmosphere, or just to unwind in Niagara-on-the-Lake, Barrelhead hits every note beautifully. Can’t wait to come back.

Stopped by BarrelHead, a great brewery by Niagara on the Lake, for a bite to eat and for my wife and friend to grab a quick beer. 🧆 Food: We tried the Pearl and Lover Boy wood-fired pizzas, which were excellent — especially for non-Jersey-style pizza — along with the Peach of Mind salad (which I did not eat since I do not like peanuts). Everything was flavorful and satisfying, perfect for a casual meal. 👥 Service: Service was solid, though you may have to wait a little longer for food if it gets busy. The staff handled everything well, and the overall experience felt relaxed and friendly. 🎨 Aesthetic: The outdoor eating area is great, with lots of seating and a fun atmosphere enhanced by live music. It’s a perfect spot to enjoy a meal and drinks on a nice day.

Steeped in tradition and family values, the Pillitteri Estates Winery, commonly known as BarrelHead, is not just a winery, but a chronicle of passion, dedication, and commitment spanning over six decades. Situated in the heart of Niagara, this estate offers both a historical journey and a taste of Canada's finest wines.

The Pillitteri family's journey, commencing from the rustic vineyards of Italy to the fertile grounds of Niagara, is a testament to their unwavering dedication to viticulture. The harmonious blend of old-world charm and new-world innovation is evident in every corner of the estate, and especially in each bottle they produce.

What truly sets Pillitteri Estates Winery apart is the heart and soul poured into their craft. With three generations actively participating, the wine truly becomes a liquid narrative of their family's legacy. Aleksandar Kolundzic, the winemaker, further elevates this narrative with his two decades of expertise. His rigorous approach to monitoring and classifying wine ensures that every bottle adheres to the highest standards of quality.

The recognition Pillitteri Estates Winery has garnered over the years is monumental. With over 800 awards, including the esteemed 2022 Gary Pillitteri Award of Distinction from Wine Growers of Canada, it's evident that their wines are not just beverages but masterpieces.

The winery's proximity to the world-renowned Niagara Falls and its position in the globally recognized wine belt make it an essential stop for both wine aficionados and casual visitors alike. Beyond the wine, the estate offers a visual treat with its sprawling vineyards, a testament to Niagara-on-the-Lake's status as Ontario's wine-producing crown jewel.

In essence, a visit to BarrelHead (Pillitteri Estates Winery) is a multi-sensory journey – a delightful dance of flavors on the palate, tales of perseverance and passion, and panoramic views of one of Canada's most prolific wine-producing regions. Whether you're a connoisseur or just curious, this winery promises an experience that lingers long after the last sip. Highly recommended for an authentic taste of...

We visited Pillitteri BarrelHead Restaurant for a milestone birthday with a group of 8 adults + 2 kids. Overall, it was a nice outing with some highlights, but a few disappointments.

Pros: • Servers, bar staff, and wine tasting were fantastic – warm and attentive. • Food was tasty and well-prepared. • Lively vibe with live music – great for a summer brunch or day out.

Cons: • Slow service – understandable on a busy long weekend but noticeable. • Chicken add-on was tiny (3–4 small pieces) for a $6–$7 upcharge. • Seating issue: Requested a quieter table for our sleeping baby, told it was for groups of 12+, yet a group of eight was later seated there. (We were 10) • Cake-cutting fee: We dropped off the cake early, clearly mentioned we’d be cutting it later, and at no point were we told there was a $40 fee. After fully settling a $500 bill, (lunch and Wine tasting) we asked for the cake to be brought out — only then were we informed of the fee. At this point, I expected the manager to acknowledge the lack of transparency and waive it, but they insisted on charging it, which felt rigid and disappointing.

Overall: The servers and bar team could have made this a five-star experience. Unfortunately, management and hostess decisions knocked two stars off, and out of principle, we chose not to continue our celebration here. With better communication and flexibility, this could be a perfect spot for a fun...
