We went to Silversmith's with our party of 8 and were greeted by a young male host with a mustache and shoulder length hair. We knew we might have to wait and were willing to do so. When we arrived, my friend said we were willing to take 2 tables of 4, even of they were separate. My friend, working in hospitality herself, was kind and respectful and asked the male host how long he thought a wait would be. He rudely rolled his eyes and said, "Do you want me to tell you the lottery numbers too?" I've never had a host be so disrespectful. All 8 of us immediately turned around and left. I approached him on the way out explaining that his comment was unnecessary and rude, to which he replied, "See, I knew they didn't like it. Sometimes a joke just doesn't land." I told him I understood what he was trying to be funny, but the comment was unnecessary.
My male friend went back to ask if he had been offended by us when we arrived and that's what made him treat us so unfairly, but as he was returning he heard this male host childishly making fun of me.
You can guarantee Silversmith Brewery will never receive any of our money again. I didn't try the food, I didn't try any drinks but, after that, I really...

The idea of taking an old church and turning it into a brewery is such a great idea. Very clever use of what was in the church, with a mix of brewery-styled add ons. I adored the stained glass still in great condition as well as the extremely long church pew. The owners were very respectful to the history of the building and its use.
The beers were great. We tried the Born Again Lager as well as the Breakfast Wheat. The Breakfast Wheat has a sort of orange taste to it which was very unique and pleasant. The Born Again Lager seemed more smooth, which was enjoyable.
The food, although it looked good really left something to the imagination. However, the food is not the Brewery's and therefore I don't believe it should go against them. Oddbird supplies the food. They have a high reputation, but I really felt that each item I ate was just missing something.
The brewery looks to be expanding (based on the construction outside). I'm looking forward to coming here again - primarily for beer. I'd like to try some of Oddbird's other foods as perhaps they have something with a bit more flavour that would be...
Read moreSilversmith Brewing Company is hands down one of the coolest brewery experiences I’ve had. It’s located inside an old church, which gives it this really unique, cozy vibe—especially on a cold day. The stained glass windows and church architecture add so much character, and I love how they carried that theme into their logo and overall aesthetic.
They had a solid lineup of beers on tap, and the one that stood out to me the most was their Black Lager. I wasn’t expecting it to have those smooth coffee notes, but it totally hit the spot—super flavorful and easy to drink.
The food menu surprised me in the best way. I ordered the fried chicken thigh sandwich, and wow—so juicy, crispy, and packed with flavor. Definitely way better than your average pub fare.
What really sealed the deal, though, was the staff. Everyone was incredibly friendly and attentive without being overbearing. You can tell they care about making sure you have a great time.
If you’re in Ontario and love good beer, good food, and a chill, inviting atmosphere, definitely make a stop at Silversmith. It’s got that perfect blend of character, comfort, and quality that makes you want...
