I went here once before Covid and had a fantastic experience and they had a full menu with amazing food. The ambiance was to die for. I went there last night with my husband. We drive all the way from Richmond hill just to have dinner at kitchen 76 but the experience was off. The menu was very limited and we were sat at 8:00 pm. I told the hostess I had a reservation which she said she could not find even though I showed her the booking confirmation. She did manage to find us seats which we appreciated. We sat at 8:00 pm and I ordered 2 appetizers and drinks and our entrees. The waiter waited until 9:40 to ask us if we were ready for our entrees and we said yes ofcourse, it doesn’t take 1.5 hours to eat two appetizers. He told us “alright I will go ahead and punch in your entrees now”. I was confused I thought he had already put the order through and I asked again to confirm “has it not been put through?” And he said no but he will do it now. My husband also asked the same question and he fully confirmed that it hasn’t been put through yet. By this time it was dark outside and very cold and I could not bare to wait another 30 min for our order so I said pls don’t put our order through then because we are very cold and it’s late now. The minute I wanted to cancel the entree that had not been put through the waiter said “no it has been put through it’s almost ready”. I said but you just said that and he said in a very smug way “no it has been put through already”. I knew he just didn’t want to cancel the order and I found that disgusting. It took another 30 minutes after this conversation before we received our food which was mediocre at best. I am shocked that the waiter would lie the way that he did possibly for a larger tip. The food was not great at all. The meat on the pizza tasted like it was microwaved. We couldn’t have more than one slice and the chicken was under cooked. I will never go back to this restaurant again. I am very disappointed that we drive all the way there for...
Read moreWe had a horrible experience at Kitchen76 and this used to be one of my favorite restaurants at Niagara on the Lake. The service was horrible and unacceptable. I will strongly encourage all my friends and family to never visit this establishment again.
We had a reservation at 6:30 on a Friday night and was seated promptly, however, no one acknowledged us for 15 minutes and at which time, one of the servers brought us some water. We sat there for another 5 to 10 minutes before our waiter appeared to let us know that she would be back in yet more time.
Once we ordered the food, it was an hour and a half before the food arrived and this is only after we asked the restaurant manager to look into our meal. The manager not only did not apologize for the delay but told us with an attitude that this is not uncommon. When the food arrived, it was obvious that the kitchen was behind and our food was cold. Only half the order arrived and the remaining order arrived one at a time. This is not acceptable for a restaurant that claims to be a top restaurant in NOTL. Our waiter refused to have any kind of eye contact with us knowing that we were upset. There was not a single apology from the restaurant for the subpar service.
We were there to celebrate a birthday and the experience ruined our day. The service in this establishment has deteriorated over the last few times that we were there. There is either a problem with the management or the winery has gotten too popular and they are not staffed to handle the volume.
By the time we left, the restaurant was almost empty and most of the tables in the restaurants were not cleared away. There were dirty dishes, wine glasses, and used napkins scattered all over the tables. How could they expect their customers to sit and enjoy a meal surrounded by this...
Read moreThis is the second time we dined at Kitchen76. The first time we ate here was 2 weeks ago with my extended family for a Christmas Eve lunch. Everyone had an amazing time and enjoyed the delicious food. Leana, our server was exceptional. Hence, my husband and I decided to come back, this time with a few close friends.
What made this second visit more impressive than the first was how they handled the situation when my husband had a health emergency - losing consciousness for about 20 seconds and almost collapsing on the floor. (He was later diagnosed at the ER with stomach flu.)
Adele, Kevin and others provided exceptional care and support during the entire ordeal. They not only assisted in ensuring my husband's well-being while we awaited the ambulance but also displayed genuine compassion throughout the ordeal. Their quick thinking and support made an incredibly challenging situation more manageable.
My friends and I were moved by the team's kindness in only charging us half the bill, demonstrating an unparalleled level of understanding and empathy. This unexpected gesture made an already stressful situation more bearable.
Moreover, receiving a thoughtful note from the staff two days after the incident, inquiring about my husband's health status, showcases the true essence of outstanding customer service. Kitchen76 team's compassion extends beyond the walls of their restaurant, creating a lasting impression on us.
We sincerely appreciate the genuine care and concern exhibited by the Kitchen76 staff. Their exceptional customer service has not only earned our gratitude but also our unwavering loyalty.
Thank you very much for turning a difficult experience into a testament of the team's exceptional professionalism...
