The Twining retreat is one of the reasons why I enjoy staying at B & Bs. Mike and Annette are perfect and gracious hosts . We shared many wonderful stories and they made me and family feel very much at home. ||My room was done up perfectly and the bed was very comfortable. Queen bed with an on sweet bathroom complete with large shower. Perfect for a fella who's 6'2". ||Breakfasts were served out on their back deck with nature all around. What a beautiful way to start the day. ||The highlight of this B & B has to be the back yard. Large gazebo with comfy wicker chairs and couch that can be lit up at night. Peaceful walking paths through the gardens with a nice pond filled with gold fish and water features.||My family sat out in the yard on several nights catching up on old stories and listening to the symphony of birds and frogs. It doesn't get much more relaxing then that for me. ||I highly recommend staying here and will do it again next time...

The breakfasts are delicious, beautiful and substantial, complete with homemade preserves and jams, the freshest of seasonal fruits, and treats from crepes to eggs benedict. Every morning is a surprise and a treat. The beds are very comfortable with lovely linens. The neighborhood is a peaceful and beautiful retreat from the hubbub of downtown (during the Shaw Theatre Festival). In nice weather (georgeous when we were there) you dine in the garden. in the most bounteous garden in the city. From lilac and Japanese maple trees to house high rose bushes and all manner of other plantings, you will be enveloped in the best of Niagara-on-the Lake. Everything from the robes in the bathroom closet through the full set of bath supplies including even a shower cap along with everything being spotless made for a great stay. I happened to mention that my wife and I are vegetarians and Annette made some wonderful omelettes for us the next morning. We had a breakfast in their covered outside dining area and enjoyed having a great chat with the other guests. The excellent coffee, fresh fruit with yogurt and granola, and several choices for juices made for a great start to the day. Lastly, the area was very quiet and felt very safe.
