Hoagie's Diner — Restaurant in North Bay

Been coming to North Bay for 8 years, and I've eaten here at Hogies several times however this will be the last time I eat here.

Last time I was here the steak was flavourless and over cooked. Left half of it on my plate, and the vegetables were cold.

Today I ordered liver and onions with mash Potatoes. The mash was barely mashed with huge chunks and was cold along with the corn which was cold and stale. The onions barely cooked and we're almost raw. They should be caramelized. Instead they were crunchy.

Worst mash I've ever had, anyone can mash a Potatoe with their bare hand. I miss my kitchen were I can out cook the cook here by a million to one.

So disappointed with the food here, it's flavourless and cold.

I'm sure in the past it was great food but I strongly believe they won't be around to much longer.

Stick with burgers and leave the real cooking to folks who enjoy and...

Great atmosphere, extremely good service. Waitress was great, kind and attentive, always knowing when I was low on coffee. Kitchen staff were great. The wait time was less than 10 minutes to get my food. I ordered a classic burger with the works, and fries, portion size was perfect, and I was full before I could finish my plate. Did not have room for desert, even though I wish I did. Burger was nearly perfect, although I found it a tad dry (I should have added cheese.) fries were perfect. And for the atmosphere of the place, I’d say it is a great 50’s style diner, with an amazing aesthetic ie. classic coca-Cola signage all over the walls, nostalgic pictures of cars from the 50’s. We were driving through on Sunday morning Sept. 8th 2019 and trying desperately to find a proper place to have a nice sit-down breakfast 🍳 and here if we didn’t see the wonderful, beautiful Diner right on the corner! Hey what an incredible discovery!!! The waitress that served us what so sweet and kind and chatted with us, on top of it was from the same part of the country as where my parents are now living, what a small world. We just love the ambiance is diners and this one is right up there at the top of the list! It’s been around for decades, since 1975, and it’s not for nothing! What great food!
