Wings Cafe — Restaurant in North Cowichan

Took my friends and was rudely greeted. Booth was dirty and throughout the dinner we were exposed to cigarette smoke and a large amount of flies. I found it odd the door was left open, maybe to get rid of the flies but the server should know her smoke was coming straight in. My nephew and myself get a bad reaction from tobacco smoke so we were bothered by this.

We ordered 3 meals, the egg foo young was hardly edible and covered in salty gravey. The clubhouse sandwich had dry turkey and the French fries were freezer burnt. I can’t speak for the 3rd meal because we didn’t eat it, nor our leftovers.

Bad food is one thing, maybe a bad day, but to be bombarded with flies and cigarettes smoke, rudely greeted in a dirty space for over priced food is not worth the time. Maybe they want to run this place...

Food might be good but the employee taking orders is horrible so I didn't get to try it. . New to Chemainus just went there and asked if combo can have substitutions, she said "yes". I asked for rice ribs and sechuan beef and she said "not that one". She told me several other beef items I could add and I said "that's okay I will go somewhere else" I turned to leave and she said "ya whatever" and walked to the back. I couldn't believe an employee would act like that so I asked to speak to the owner. She apologized and I told her that her employee was very rude and if someday she wasn't working there I would come back. When you are in the restaurant business you don't hire employees like that....your business...

Got the combo #1 with an orange crush, food was bland as hell and the fried rice was just white rice with random veg, the chicken chow mein was bland and old with weird strips of meat which i assumed to be the chicken. The lemon chicken was again, bland, with not even a hint of citrus. I had to add my own seasonings to the food when i got to work. They hadnt even given me my drink (orange crush) and I'll admit some fault to that because i hadnt realized till it was too late. The service was basic, not great not bad so thats why 3 stars. Idk if the rest of the food there is good but the Combo #1...
