The best part of the meal was the bill! We went for dinner for a night off of cooking, looked for a budget-friendly, local restaurant to sit in and be served and decided to try The Five Star Restaurant. We ordered the souvlaki platter and the veal parmigiana with spaghetti. Both were good, although I found it odd that the souvlaki came with chicken-fried rice--I was expecting steamed white rice, a usual Greek side. Then I remembered that this restaurant is locally known for its Canadian-Chinese food. Still, that means they have access to steamed rice, right...? But, the chicken-fried rice was delicious. My DH, a veal parm fan, says it was good. Both meals still yummy as leftovers the next day. They have a limited bar menu--no draft beer or fancy cocktails. We arrived later in the evening, as is our norm for dinner, but their website, Facebook page, AND GoogleMaps' hours listed were incorrect and they were closing in 45mins. Our server was very gracious and told us not to worry, take our time, and enjoy the meal. I hope they correct the website hours information soon. There are a lot of new people moving to Kemptville or passing through, so it would be a good idea to keep the Internet information current. Now that we've been (after living in the area for 23 yrs) we know what to expect. Next time we'll come earlier than 45mins before closing ;)
