Update...I changed the service review from 2 stars to 4. I few days after I left the 2 star review DQ corporate called me. I told them of the anger and meaness the current manager had to there staff. it was so uncalled for (see below). I was told that they would be fixing this issue and to give them a chance. I agreed. I continued going and didn't change my rating for a few months because I don't trust big corporate or how managers of chains treat employees. I've been a manager many times in my life and a manager looks at bottom line but also his staff. if staff is sad he is not doing his job.
Well I can honestly say they have changed for the better. I'm not sure I've seen that old manager since the call, but he could have just changed his way.
DQ really needs to vet their leadership better. this should never had happened in the first place. thank you for making the changes.
Previous Review...Opening day we had the loveliest guy working there. Her was middle aged a bit balding and he was so cheerful and happy. I don't mind waiting in a line when staff and managers are that happy.
Don't know how they did it but DQ managed to get my last post deleted. which discussed the below incident.
3 days later we go back and a different guy was managing and he was so abusive to the young staff members. His voice raised at such a level I was embarrassed. Our order was messed up a lot but I didn't want to see the staff get yelled at again so I just took the 5 drinks for 2 people and the wrong food and let it be. We tossed most of the drinks because who would drink that many drinks. It was sad to see 12 - 16 year old being treated like that on their first job.
The place is clean and nice very modern, but I may hesitate returning. It is in no way as friendly as the osoyoos DQ which I go to often.
Now let's see if this review is removed too.
NOTE: Went back again hoping it was a bad day, and again say management embarrassingly yelling at the young staff. I'm in management and I try hard to treat my staff as my companies best assets, while still looking at bottom line, and speed. Happy staff happy customers equals money. 2 times same issue doesn't equal a bad day. It equals someone needing dismissed or being represented. We all...
Read moreThe food is adequate. What do you expect? It's fast food. I would say it would be worth coming here if you are trying to get cheaper food but it's only cheap if you use the app and buy their deals. The ice cream is expensive. That can be countered with the app. I would recommend pretty much using the app the entire time. You're shopping here and eating here. Essentially, the app provides the value because of the money savings that you get from getting the ice cream through it. I would say the best deal on the menu is the one they advertise in the drive-thru which is purchasing two double cheeseburgers for about 10 bucks. Note this can be done as much as you like. As far as their service speed goes, that will vary significantly. If it's peak hours, expect to wait 10 to 15 minutes even in the Drive-Thru. If they're not busy you might get your stuff within about 5 minutes.
One of the most significant advantages of eating here is how late they're open. For Oliver, the only option you had at around 10:00 to 10:30 would have been 7-Eleven. So being able to actually order yourself a burger and some fries and whatever else around this time is a good thing, In fact, it even inspires competition from the other drive-thru in town too.
As far as my multiple experiences eating here ago, I haven't really had any problems with the staff, aside from one specific person working there that was too friendly boarding on unprofessional.... To begin with... However, I believe that is tied to wanting reviews naming people in order to get a raise. I personally have an issue with how that corporation is run based on reviews rather than actual performance of the job. In this economy everything's getting more expensive including food and the cost of living. They need their raises, but it should not be tied into customer reviews. It should be tied to the respect of their workers and their needs...
Anyway, that's enough of my tangent, In closing, if you want to save money, use the app especially on the ice cream. The two Burger deals that they got in the Drive-Thru are the best deals they have. That's it.
Nobody is...
