Went tonight for a Cask and Keg they were definitely under staffed and little disorganized the event was was 12 per ticket included a tasting and live music but that wasn’t collected when we walked in . So we went into the brew house ordered beer and cider which was quite good, and the food ( I don’t think this is something they normally offer? ) after our second drink and finished food the gentleman came around to collect for tickets, so I went up to get my tasting which IMO was un-drinkable I immediately went back up and asked if I could switch and was told only if I bought another 12.00 ticket! There was 8 of us we each spent the money on food and drinks and 4 of us bought the tickets couldn’t drink any drinks, no one cared, even when we said something, the pot smoke was unbearable and the food was bland, very very disappointed we were out of town on vacation it’s too bad because the setting was fun outside, nice lighting, music was great and the actual beers and cider from inside quite nice , so maybe a different experience if it wasn’t...
Read moreBetter late than never - we were here for the second time a few weeks ago while staying in Osoyoos. Our main purpose was for the wineries, admittedly, but I knew I had to return to Firehall for a pint of their Smoked Ember ESB. I had remembered our first visit there seven years ago - all the beers we tried then were terrific, but that ESB really stood out for me. I had planned a trip through B.C. using Joe Wiebe’s book Craft Beer Revolution as a guide, and he gave a great write-up on this place. Seven years later, their beers remain top notch and delicious. In fact everything about this brewery is top notch - the beers, food, Uber-friendly staff - and you’ve got to love how all the names of the beers relate to firefighting. My only complaint is that I can’t get their beers at home. I did buy some cans, but sadly they won’t last long. I guess we’ll just have to return to this terrific brewery that lies within this Mecca of wineries. Well worth a visit! Check out their website, too. ...
Read moreEnjoyed their stout. Service was very good. We shared a sweet potato fries (exc), a sliced roast beef sandwich (exc), & their special which was ribs with a smokey sauce; re this last item, the ribs were very tender but surprisingly bland. No additional sauces were offered. Also, they were surprising small; I believe they were baby backs or spareribs, but were not described as such. Also, I only knew that this special (including a jug of beer of my choice) was available by looking at their Facebook page; it wasn't offered by the waitress, & we saw no info about it on the table nor elsewhere in the pub. Finally, upon looking over my receipt (details not available I paid & it nmy review. Always appreciate a company that knows the value of feedback & responds...
