Was super excited to visit kismet and masala, having heard good things and read reviews, but even upon arrival we were super disappointed. We started off with a tasting at kismet, and bought a bottle of their wine, hoping to drink it with dinner at Masala (literally 10 Steps away) only to find out about the $14 corkage fee even when it is their own wine. Crazy- But we figured we would then just have a glass with dinner. We then get in and look at their wine menu and for a 6oz glass the prices were quite high. Bottle prices even higher. I can understand a corkage fee if you’re bringing in “other” wines from different wineries, however I just didn’t understand the rationale when the only wine they serve is kismet wine. We ordered the pani puri chaat appetizer based off the recommendation from the guy who did our tasting at Kismet, and as the girl was setting it on our table, the deep red tamarind sauce spilled all over my light blue dress. They were kind and helpful, assisting with the spill and apologizing, and brought us out a new appetizer as well as an additional dish to try. We then had the butter chicken which, as lovers of Indian food- we found to be quite dry and bland, even when asking for medium spice. Portion size is very small, so don’t expect to share. Dinner for us was around 6pm and we decided to eat on the patio because it had cooled down a bit. The misters on the patio were on in full force and we had to keep moving our table away from them because we were getting quite wet! We felt like vegetables in a grocery store’s produce section! We had requested twice to have them turned off, but that never happened. If you’re dressing up for dinner, don’t sit by the misters if you don’t want to feel like you’ve just had a shower. Although we did get a discount for the inconvenience of getting spilled on, which was appreciated, the prices didn’t match the portion sizes or the quality. All in all a really disappointing evening. Read moreMasala Bistro is an absolute gem of a restaurant that serves some of the best Indian food I've ever tasted. From the moment I walked in, I was impressed by the cozy and inviting atmosphere. The decor is tasteful and elegant, and the lighting is just right, creating a warm and welcoming ambiance.
The menu at Masala Bistro is extensive, offering a wide range of dishes to choose from. I was impressed by the variety of vegetarian and non-vegetarian options, as well as the gluten-free and dairy-free options. The staff were knowledgeable about the menu and were able to make recommendations based on my preferences.
The food at Masala Bistro is simply delicious. Each dish is made with fresh ingredients and authentic spices, creating a perfect balance of flavors. The naan bread is soft and fluffy, and the curries are rich and flavorful. My personal favorite is the butter chicken, which is creamy and perfectly spiced. The portions are generous, and I left feeling satisfied and content.
The service at Masala Bistro is excellent. The staff are attentive, friendly, and professional, and they made me feel welcome and comfortable throughout my meal. They were always available to answer any questions I had and to make sure that I had everything I needed.
Overall, I would highly recommend Masala Bistro to anyone looking for a delicious and authentic Indian dining experience. The food, service, and atmosphere are all top-notch, and I can't wait to go...

I’ve been to several Indian eateries in the okanagan.. being a GOOD Indian cook myself I found this to be the worst place.
The pakoras were RAW. The batter was all raw.. Uncooked.. crispy and golden on top.. dowy and battery inside.
The samosas had a weird after taste and weird orange coloured potatoes inside…who puts carrots inside the samosa filling? and they served no red chutney. She didn’t even know what “red sauce” is..? How do you eat a samosa or a fish pakora without the signature tamerind chutney and mint chutney? The solution was a big bowl full of mango chutney which I had to pay for, she decided to dump the entire jar of mango chutney in a bowl… instead of a few spoon fulls in the chutney serving plate. I brought it to go n it’s going to last me months but really that was your solution? Butter chicken was good but didn’t have any spice to it despite ordering a medium. Another Big fail.!
The only thing I enjoyed was the masala tea.. everything else was a waste of time and $.!
And the Chatpapdi was stale! Looked amazing on top but soggy on the inside.
Everything looks amazing but can’t go by looks, the taste also has to live up.. which disappointed by all means.
We regretted having lunch here we should’ve just stopped at smittys again, that would’ve been better value for our $..!
Won’t be...
