After 2 years irs finally open again! However things gave changed and I can't say for the better which is disappointing. Here's a list of the changes I experienced on my visit with my kids and grandkids
They had a lady with a guitar singing upstairs in the bar area...she was ok but not as good as the other singers they have had-however that might just be me.
The price ...up again to basically 50$ pp with tax...23$ for children. This is way too high for a brunch as it's now the price of a nice dinner so think if it's worth it before you go. Hours are now 11.30-1.30...still long enough but you're pretty hungry by then if you've skipped breakfast. Kids need to eat an early breakfast as they wo nt last till 11.30 and then they really aren't hungry enough to justify the cost. The grandkids basically pucked at their food and only wanted desserts and candy.
Service is ok but don't expect anything special...if you need something you'll have to look for the waiter...they aren't that attentive when it comes to coffe/tea/water refills or removing used plates. However they are very accomodating once you have them.
I was surprised that with covid there were no sneeze protectors on the food...just out there like in the pastand still self serve (which I prefer anyway).
The pasta bar no longer exists-replaced by an egg Benedict bar which is really nothing special as they always had it, except now they've expanded it to include regular, with smoked salmon, or with spinach which they assemble for you. Imo the pasta bar was better as you could also just get a plate of nice fresh veggies and have your shrimps cooked.
Shrimps are now only available cold.
Most of the ither items on the basic hot meal bar are the same...no longer have Greek salad. The cheese plate has mostly cheddar, and the fruit plate lacks variety...no strawberries, raspberries or other related fruits for example except a few cut pieces of strawberry for garnish. When i asked if they were bringing out more strawberries for the grandkids who love them i was basically told "no, they are too expensive now". Not a valid reason at that price!
On a positive note they have French fries, chicken fingers and Mac n cheese on the kiddie bar. However they only have gummies on the candies section...gone are the smarties etc. AND the icecream bar with all those nice garnishes and the chocolate fountain with the fruit etc. I liked those much better than Gummi worms!
They still have hot waffles and cheese blinzes though. Yum!!Remember the whipping cream is edible oil...not the real thing. The biggest disappointment is the day was the desserts. Gone are the wonderful fruit torte/tarts, cheesecake, and speciality cakes. They had several jellies, a basic selection of small cut bars ( brownies, pieces of their sponge cake but no Nanaimo bars or specialty items) 2 different sponge cakes and a plain chocolate cake with icing ( my son said the chocolate cake was very good). Avoid the mousse- made wirh edible oil and not chocolately enough.
I know this sounds like a lot of complaints but frankly I was quite disappointed. We've been coming here for over 30 years (wow!) and have it go through changes but these struck me as the largest in a long time. They are definitely "going cheap" imo and I don't like it.
It might be time to find a new brunch spot for the next 20 years. Anyone have any...
Read moreThis was our second visit to the Delta for the Sunday Bruch. Our first visit was excellent with no complaints. I wish we could say the same for the second time around. With a party of eight people for 2 birthday celebration's we felt it was the place to be., however once seated we discovered the service was very slow. It took forever to get our coffee and all the food we had was cold. The Sausage/bacon/hash browns and eggs benedict were the worst. The omelets were cooked in front of you were not a issue......excellent. Your toaster at the next station was the slowest I have ever seen.
Next my brother and I had the roast beef. Severally undercooked with blood pooling on it we did try it but could not finish.........no well done or medium even available to try. Not very tasty or appealing. the vegies and potatoes cold.
I could go on about the food we tried but wont. Staff at the roast beef station, pasta bar and for the omelet were excellent and I complement them. At the end we waited and waited for our bills. My mother in law (75 years old with serious health problems) ended up standing up going to a other room and asking for the bill. This should not have happened.
Our overall experience was not a good one. We would not recommend this establishment to our friends and family.

Read moreBefore I begin I want it stated that I thought a long time before writing and posting this review.. My mother reserved brunch for 3. We were placed under the cooling vent which was intollerably cold. When we brought it to the attention of our server we were told “it will warm up in here eventually” which it never did. Why on earth do they offer freezing cold plates to put your hot door on is beyond me! Add that to our freezing cold air blowing on us the food wa also cold in a second(no exaggeration) My “poached egg” was so undercooked that when I cut into it I think it ciucked! Clear egg snot filled my plate! At that point I was thoroughly grossed out and was done with this buffet. I did not say anything at the time as my mother was paying for it and did not want to upset her. She is on a pension and paid $210 for this brunch! This is unacceptable! Hoping management reaches out to me and rectifies this horrible experience! Thank you
UPDATE As I had mentioned in my review of my May 12, 2024 visit how I was hoping that management of the Armouries Grille would reach out to rectify our very dissatisfied experience…they did absolutely nothing! Will never go back and will absolutely 100% not recommend this restaurant/hotel to any of my family, friends or...
