Very welcoming diner. Staff are friendly and give great service. They convinced me to get their famous clubhouse sandwich. It was so big I couldn’t get my mouth around it. The turkey is real but I found it too dry. The home fried potatoes were delicious and cooked perfectly. Their gravy is an old family recipe which has cinnamon in it. On a second trip there I had a turkey salad sandwich on toasted rye bread. The mayo made the turkey less dry and was made to order with added celery and onions. It was delicious. I still remember the first time I stepped foot into bakers bar and grill. It was a rainy Sunday afternoon and I had just woken up from one of the craziest benders of my life. I was disoriented and confused and was looking for some food when I came across Bakers. As soon as you walk in you instantly feel welcome and like you’re at home. The ham and eggs breakfast not only fed my body but it nourished my spirit. I went on to hit a 225lb bench press PR right after brunch and I have no one to thank but the chefs at Bakers. And this ‘star’ is high. Have not been here in two years. I saw a sign for $6.99 breakfast, and thought we’d go back. So I decided my wife and I would go out today - a Wednesday. We are both 77 and have a hard time getting around. First, the sign had changed from $6.99 to $8.99.
