Every time my wife and I travel to Cornwall, we make it a point to eat at this restaurant. And not without good reason. This place serves both Canadian and Subcontinental dishes, and has an extensive menu. I can vouch for the Subcontinental dishes, since we have always found those to be outlandishly delectable, with the servings being most generous. We spread the word amongst our friends, all of whom have visited the place and spoke highly of it.
Lately we visited the restaurant again with a group of friends, mainly with the intention of introducing it to them. The feedback from each and every one of them has been positive and appreciative.
During that visit, being a Thanksgiving weekend, the restaurant was much busier than usual during lunch hour. What amazed me is that the restaurant had only one server constantly rushing back and forth from the kitchen to the tables, and from one table to another. I wonder why they didn't employ at least another server, knowing full well that the place was going to be busy during the Thanksgiving weekend.
But what amazed me even more was the lone server, Carrie-Ann, who was the personification of Super Woman. I still do not know how she managed to attend to every table regularly and in a timely fashion, keeping all the patrons happy. She singlehandedly kept the place and the act together. My hats off to her.
That notwithstanding, I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone and everyone who lives in Cornwall, or...
Read moreToday, my husband and I, and our friends and church friends, and our cousin, came here for a late lunch. Usually the service is amazing, but today wasn't the case. We got here after 2 pm. My husband, and I, are in a specific diet, and I had a lot of questions about the menu to work with my diet, on what we can eat or not. However, the lady was clearly annoyed at all the questions I had, not to mention she handed me the plate, and when I placed my hands to grab the plate she then proceeds to tell me that the plate is hot. You should be telling the customer before handing them the plate, that it's hot, not as they're grabbing it, or when I'm grabbing it. She also never checked in on us, see how our food was, super unfriendly. After we were done eating, no one picked up our dirty plates. The sever looked at us, smiled, but not once came over to clear our dirty plates. The server took my husband, and our cousins plate, Because they placed them on the edge, maybe she assumed my friend was still eating but I had dirty napkins on mine, so clearly I was finished. She also didn't ask if I wanted a refill on the coffee. I'm very unimpressed by the service. Usually they're super good at their job, I don't know the servers name, but she was Muslim. A younger girl, 17/18. I don't remember her name, the usual servers weren't there today...
Read moreAlthough I admit I was a little skeptical when I walked in, felt like a country diner and I was going to order Indian food. My girlfriend told me her friend said it was really good so here we were. The food was a strong 9/10, honestly one of the better butter chickens I've had. I asked for a badgee onion which they didnt have, but the owner overheard me and brought us a complimentary order of their take on the badgee onion which was made in a very similar fashion but without the onion, it had other veg instead, I wish I remember the name of it. At the end of our meal, the owner (an older indian gentleman) came over and spoke with us for a few minutes asking how our experience was, how was the food, are we local and all of that. Super nice guy, amazing cook, waitress was very pleasant. Honestly, the only thing I think I can say is that there are a LOT of choices on the menu from indian to italian to greek.. maybe a lot but I guess they have something for everyone. I havent tried the other stuff but the indian food was really really good, I had the butter chicken this time and I can't wait to go back to try something different! Highly recommend - good food and even...
