I visited this location yesterday and picked up two subs. They were ok tasting and reminded me of Quiznos but with less flavour. There was staff behind the counter and it was their second day open so I just figured the staff hadn't found their groove yet. Especially since it took 20-30 minutes for the huge team to get me both 8 inch subs despite there being only 4 people ahead of me. My wife visited 30 minutes ago and didn't even get to order before being shooed out of the shop. She has a gluten sensitivity, a dairy allergy, and an egg allergy. This was relayed to one worker who started looking through some company information for options my wife could have before he was asked by another man, "What are you looking for?". The worker said he was checking if the pulled chicken was dairy free to which the man snapped, "It's Not!" A manager approached and rather than assisting to find options my wife could enjoy, she simply said, "Because you have allergies, we would prefer if you did not eat here.". She was also very loud in adding, "I'm just looking out for your health.". When my wife told her she just has to have the gluten free bread with a dairy free protein option and no cheese on the sub, the manager mentioned that their may be contact in during prep. My wife, again, stated that would be fine as it's not a contact allergy, she just can't have those items in her food in any significant quantity. The manager then said she would call the district manager. Rather than asking the DM what options would be suitable, the manager immediately started examining how she told my wife she didn't want her eating there because she has many food allergies. Congratulations on successfully making things harder than they ready are to find meal options for individuals with sensitivities. I'll be making a recommendation to your DM to make sure the managers at this location work on their customer service skills and educated themselves in how food intolences work.
The company bio on Firehouse Subs website starts with, "People come back when they’re treated well and fed well.". That's exactly why we...
Read moreFirehouse Subs is by FAR the BEST sub shop going right now. Compared to the rivals especially Subway, you get at least four times the amount of meat and toppings. And, for not that much of a higher price point!
I first tried Firehouse Subs a few years back before the pandemic when the one in Peterborough opened up. Right then and there, I knew that I had found what may be a hidden gem, a not-so-secret secret spot for what may be the best sandwich going. Unfortunately, due to shut downs, I had not encountered the joyous taste of Firehouse Subs in my mouth for three years now.
Work brought me to Belleville, and Skip The Dishes kept me well fed throughout the pandemic when I was craving a little something special. But, something special was missing, missing from Belleville. That something special, was, Firehouse Subs. But Alas! My prayers had been answered and a Firehouse Subs opened in Belleville! Thank the heavens above!
So one hungry night at the beginning of what would be a lengthy, 12 hour night shift, I ordered a Firehouse sub! A large Italian on white, extra provolone, add chopped pickle, mushrooms, caramelized onions and hot sauce! I can honestly say, I don't recall ever having a better tasting sandwich my entire life! (And if you can not tell, I am quite the foodie!)
Thank god my writing skills are far superior to that of my photography skills, because the two photos that I attach with this review do not do Firehouse Subs justice!
And, to the crew working and leading the new Belleville location, hats off to you! What a fantastic job! I can not wait to attend the restaurant in person and experience first hand, what I'm sure is fantastic customer service and hospitality!
Amazing job Firehouse Subs and Firehouse Subs Belleville location! I cannot recommend this establishment...
Read moreThere is no better choice for subs in Belleville than Firehouse. I am a regular customer, and probably go there at least two times per week. Their evening staff (Krupa, Namrata & Priyanka) are friendly, courteous and capable. I never have to wait very long for my food. Because I am such a frequent customer, the girls now know me by name and also can remember my exact order every time. Now that is attention to detail! They always maintain a high level of cleanliness on the premises, tables, floors and washrooms are always clean. And most importantly, the subs are absolutely fantastic. If you are looking for an alternative from the other subs shops, try Firehouse. I guarantee, you won't regret it!
Update 1 year later: Firehouse continues to my "go to" place to eat before the night shift. Every sub on their menu (and I have tried them all) is good and satisfying. My favorites include Turkey Bacon Ranch, Club on a Sub. Meatball and Italian. And I love their self serve pop machine with so many flavour choices and free refills! Let's face it. Between 5:00 and 6:00 pm is a busy and challenging time for any fast food place in Belleville. I have seen the place super busy so many times, and I am always impressed by the friendliness, efficiency and team effort of the staff when under pressure. My personal experience has been that they always remember my name and they always make my sub just right. They are true professionals, every one of them! So thank-you Firehouse staff for your exceptional customer service, and for always making me feel welcome. Five Stars for Krupa, Krima, David, Harsha, Diya, Komal and Bhavika! And not to forget past servers Namrata, Priyanka, Kajal and Neha! If you haven't tried Firehouse yet, I don't know what you're...
