Greektown Grill & Takeout — Restaurant in Ontario

Horrible experience at this restaurant. When my partner and I walked in, we were loudly greeted by a server who yelled from behind the counter asking if we had a reservation. The server's manner was very abrupt, and it seemed odd because the restaurant did not appear particularly busy. When we confessed we did not have a reservation, the server said it was too busy to get us a table, and they were booked solid. I was surprised by the server's coarse manner, not to mention we had eaten at this establishment before, been great customers, and always tipped well. Needless to say, we went elsewhere on this particular evening. After we were seated at another restaurant, one in which the staff provided great customer service, I decided to call Greektown and ask if they were busy. To my shock, the person who answered the phone told me that it was not particularly busy, and asked when we might be coming in. I recounted my tale about the rude greeting we had received just 20 minutes earlier, and I asked how could the restaurant be "not too busy" when we were just told minutes before it was booked. Anyway, I did not bother to wait for a response. So, if you want to be treated poorly, and don't care about customer service, by all means go to Greektown, but if you want great Greek cuisine, and solid service go to Grecos, The Greek Island Restaurant, Mino's take-out... anywhere...

Greek Town is THE best! Do yourself a favour and go there for lunch and/or dinner. If it’s your thing, order some red wine and enjoy what you’re about to taste. They never disappoint and are always consistent and super friendly. Must try on the menu: the warm pita and tzatziki (best tzatziki EVER), the chicken souvlaki, butterfly shrimp, Greek salad (the dressing is amazing), they also do a great Caesar salad... I’ve also heard the wrap is amazing, though I have never tried it myself but I’m sure it’s delicious. A true gem of a restaurant in Kingston. Worth the drive if you are coming from downtown or anywhere really and looking for a good Greek food experience. Good luck trying to leave without ordering something to take home from one of their amazing showcase display fridges.. you will not regret taking home a whole sale Greek salad dressing or tzatziki (or anything!). One of Kingstons best!! A versatile restaurant run by good good people who will meet all of your needs and expectations. We’ve had them supply us with delicious food for 20+ people and also had Greek Town several Friday nights in just the two of us. Every time we are so happy we ordered from Greek...

I made a reservation for six people at 5:30 on a Monday night and brought the grandparents with us to celebrate my daughter's 9th birthday. The food was okay but not great (under cooked, over priced kalamari and kids found the chicken souvlaki too "spicy"; I found it grizzly) with a drink for the kids costing $3.50. No kids menu to speak of. I felt like we were being rushed and the waitress wanted to take our plates before we finished our appetizer/salad. She then rather curtly, told us that we needed to make room in the middle of the table for our main courses while still eating out appetizers. I watched an older gentleman receive a free piece of cake on his way out, yet my daughter was not even offered a chocolate ball for $1.75 despite a hefty bill of almost $300 for 6 (4 adults + 2 children) of us including the tip and them knowing it was her special day. They could have cared less that it was her birthday which was very disappointing. I certainly wasn't expecting staff to do a silly song and dance, but absolutely no recognition of her special day?? We won't be dropping that kind of...
