So my wife and I heard about this great burger joint and we drove downtown to see what the fuss was all about. WE ordered takeout. The burgers are really good! The only issue (that I saw) was their refusal to customize a burger. You basically have to order from their pre-named creations. The only problem is that every burger they make has their signature special sauce. I asked if they could hold off on the special sauce and I was told "flatly" that they couldn't do it. I asked why and was given some bizarre explanation that insinuated that the cook works by memory so he makes the burger as noted on the menu and deviations are not allowed. Whatevah! So I asked if the cook could perhaps reduce the amount of sauce he puts on my burger. The person who was taking my order said she would ask and then came back and said that they could accommodate my request. Ok so no customization right? I'm still puzzled by this policy. As I said in the beginning the burgers are great but I'm not a big fan of special sauces. So, unless they alter their policy no more burgers from this place for me!
Yikes I guess I hit a raw nerve with the owner (or his delegate). I get it you're a "craft burger rest"!!!! Whatever that means.... Alas I may not be "savvy" enough to navigate your complex menu. I'm happy to see that your reply to my critique is perfectly aligned with the arrogance you demonstrated when I asked to hold off on the "secret sauce". Amazing retort full of anger and subtle insults. I'll make a bold prediction. If your customer service is commensurate with your attitude then you'll be out of business within a couple of years. That and the fact that you have to compete with Burger Burger which is directly across the street from you. They're not pretentious, are always happy to customize orders and their are as good as your. (There I said it again...you have great burgers just a...
Read moreThe daughter and I have been trying out new restaurants as new hobby and tonight she decided on a burger and the only place I could think of was Dandys but I didn't want to drive all the way to the south end of town and back for a good burger so I searched Google and looked for something not so far away, this place popped up with a 5 star rating, balderdash I say to myself. We hopped in the car and drove over, we weren't sure which place it was didn't see much I the way of signage but I'm also just blind and may not have seen it. Now the kiddo and I have the luck that every time we go out there seems to be a large party that sat down right before us. Place was packed but we were able to sit at the bar, we looked the at menu and each decided on a Roy Batty and we'd share an order of. Apparently as well as being blind I can't read that well either, I thought I was just getting basic ketchup and mustard burger, I didn't notice the house sauce. These things were steaming, piping hot off the flat top I told the kiddo to be cautious but nope went right into it while I indulged in a fry, shoestring mcdonalds style, just perfect. While I nibble on my fry the daughter exclaims how the burger tastes exactly like a big mac. I'm a little surprised I thought we ordered basic burgers, I finally take a bite into mine and it's only what I can describe as Luxury McDonald's. It was so damn good, I ordered a double patty cause I'm a big boy and noticed they said they're only 3.5oz patties and it was still a decent challenge, but it was absolutely perfect could not recommend enough. We got the two burgers, a fry to share, she had an ice tea and I just stuck to water and I believe the total came to around $35, and considering the cost of fast food nowadays I would rather pay thr couple extra dollars for a phenomenal sandwich that doesn't leave me all gross...
Read moreHouse Craft Burgers is a must visit in London! I frequented them when they were a pop-up within Storm Stayed Brewery and their burgers were phenomenal! I was sad when they decided to leave but was glad they were opening a brick and mortar. And the quality has not changed. I have been to their location on Richmond a few times and it did not disappoint. Brought a few friends that are new to London and they also loved it. BEST smash burger or burger of any type in London, hands down. We had to wait for about an hour and 20 minutes to be seated. It was around 6:30pm on a Saturday. I know this place gets packed so I was not surprised or mad about this. I really wanted my friends to try the food, so we went over to Barney’s for a drink. The time flew by. Once we headed back and were seated, we all ordered the Roy Batty with a few additions, some fries and some beers. Fries done in the beef tallow are fantastic. Nice and thin, crispy on the outside and soft on the inside and the tallow gives them excellent flavour. But the burger is the standout. Not enough good things to say about it. Our server was also really awesome and friendly. Gave Greta recommendations to our friends and was cool about us staying well after they closed to finish. Love this place, will never stop going here and if you haven’t...
