I LOVE BURGERS — Restaurant in Ontario

I won a $25 giftcertificate when I entered a contest at the Cornwall Farmer's Market that was being sponsored by Backstrom's Independent Store together with Boom Radio 101.9 in Cornwall. My wife and I decided to cash it in and avoid cooking supper on Aug. 9/2023.

We both ordered the basic burger combo Take-Out that comes with fries and a canned drink. We knew it would get a bit soggy on the way home but it was still a decent burger, with a good sized patty, a slice of tomato, sliced onion and a full piece of lettuce rather than the shredded stuff that falls out. I found the burger was a lot like "home-made" and it was satisfying.

The french fries were nicely done (twice fried and darker in colour--not wishy washy pale & greasy as I've had at some places. There were plenty of fries and I saved some to make home fries with eggs in the morning 😃

What you should know, is that this is a food trailer (not an eat-in fast food restaurant) but they do have a couple picnic tables with umbrellas if you want to order and eat right away. It's located in a parking lot of the small shopping strip stores at this location so parking is...

Paid $14 for a chicken ceasar salad of modest size, drove 30 minutes home, only to open the box and have ZERO chicken on the salad!! Attempted to call 4x to let them know about the error, and no one answered the phone. I couldn't even leave a message as the voicemail associated with the number hasn't been set up. I'll be spending my money elsewhere from now on if this is the level of service and responsiveness they provide. 🙁

UPDATE After reading this review, someone (I'm assuming one of the owners?) reached out to me today, less than 24 hours after my visit and attempts to contact them, to address my concerns. I am very appreciative of their willingness to correct the errors, and win back my business. I feel valued, and heard, as a customer as a result of our conversation. I will be happy to go back and try...

Omg best place on earth. First the owners and staff bend over backwards to ensure ur order is exactly what u wanted. I typically order from doordash and they actually read the modification section and I always get my food exactly how I asked for.

Secondly, the food. Wowwaza. Fried Pickles ...yes simple but the portion is fantastic. As for the wings...I get them well done with honey hot sayce on the wings and they are spectacular. If u don't like saucy wings ask to put less sauce or on the side. My first burger came a bit red. Now I asked for well done and the beef is fresh, bun too.... Poutine ...100% real curds and the gravy is on point.
