Jack's Family Restaurant — Restaurant in Ontario

So I’m feeling guilty for this review kind of. We’ve been there several times and it’s always great. Tonight…… whole different ball game. We were sat, greeted, and brought water quickly by our waiter. He brought soup which was flavourless and seemed watered down. Then NOTHING. We watched 4 tables that came in after us all receive their food including appetizers while we sat and waited. The waiter at one point said “I don’t k ow what’s going on with your food” but never followed up. We got up to leave and I stopped to pay for my soup……expecting to get a “we’re very sorry and the soups on us” but nope. $6.20 please. ! After telling the greeter what had happened. We just stopped there today for a quick bite to eat. Was not busy at all. Was told be the waitress we could order the specials even though it was not yet 11am, however she was not allowed to put the prices up to 11 am. I had the wing special. Soupwas not soup it was a paste. The fries were not cooked. My husband had the fish special. Again. Fries were not cooked. And the fish was three small frozen fish sticks. Another gentelman had a breakfast and his was served ten minutes after everyone else. The last man in our group had a BTL. Had two small pieces of bacon on it. Not sure how any one could say this place has good home cooked meals. It was terrible. Will not stop here every again. Oh and I did complain and was told" oh well"...

I went into Jack’s for lunch around 1pm on a Tuesday with my family. We were acknowledged at the door and told to pick a seat. It was not very busy in there at the time. There were about 6 tables seated and 3 people working. We sat down for around 7-10 minutes. We were not greeted by a waitress, we were not brought menus or anything during this time. The servers were not busy. Twice they were all standing at the back of the restaurant talking amongst themselves. One server/busser spent most of the time just polishing cutlery. After waiting several minutes with no greeting, and being on a time limit for lunch, we got up to go somewhere else with prompt service. We were not acknowledged when we left.
