Excellent food and atmosphere. Very reasonable prices.

We started with the nachos. They were decent. Could've used some more toppings and had the toppings evenly distributed better. The meat and cheese were mostly in the middle. It left something to be desired.

The beef tips are great. A bed of mashed potatoes, topped with steak bits, mushrooms, and smothered in gravy.

The burgers were great. Good flavour to the meat and a nice bun. The onion rings were just okay.

We were served by Alyssa. Our first night, she came off as entertaining with a slightly standoffish, business only attitude. She was prompt with bringing drinks over and we had a good time. The 2nd night we came, I hate to say it, but she was downright rude. We made some casual jokes about the playlist, which we literally told her we were joking, and she seemed miffed. We figured her behaviour was a joke at first, but she took quite a while to come by a 2nd time, and then wayyyy longer to come by a 3rd time and pressed us to deal with the bill. When we were asking her to split the bill 3 ways, she gave us a bunch of attitude, as if we were asking for something ridiculous. She claimed that she was dealing with a lot of people, but we could see her clearly having a good and easy time with the patrons at the bar. After we payed our bills and stuck around to finish our drinks, she was behind the bar throwing her hand out pointing towards us in an aggressive manner while looking at us and clearly referencing us (Her gesture caused the 2 people she was talking to to look our way).

This visit was a first for me. I had never been to a "meat draw" before. Jake's Joint is on Huron Church Road just north of the expressway. I was pleasantly surprised by how much room there was. This weekly "meat draw" is well attended. They have a 50/50 draw as well, with two winners. The server was very friendly and apologized when she felt we had waited too long for our service. We were having so much fun, it never seemed like a long wait. She was very busy but always had a smile and some nice comment. The washroom was incrediby clean and had a wheelchair accessible stall. The building is also wheelchair accessible. I'm . looking forward to my next visit there. I forgot to mention the food. Stopped in a couple evenings in late August, 2025 to grab takeout dinner for the family as we were staying at a nearby hotel and nobody was in the mood for going out after a long day in the sun at the Tigers game.

Bartender who served me both nights was very friendly, great service and made a couple great recommendations when I couldn't quite decide which item (or option) to get.

Super affordable as well -- all apps are only $6 and mains are all reasonably priced as well. I think my pre-tax bill for enough food for a family of 4 -- and a beer while I waited -- was $60-65 pre-tip.
