Motel 6 Windsor, ON — Hotel in Ontario

I have been to the other side of the world to third world countries that didn't have elaborate rooms but they were clean. I have never seen anything more disgusting in my life. I asked for another room and was told there weren't any available. Then the owner's wife called the room to ask me about what was going on. When I went to pick up the phone, the handset was stuck to the base. I told her about the phone and all the things in the room that were absolutely unacceptable and she came up to the room. She took me to another room which wasn't much better. The very first thing that I did was pick up the phone and it was stuck as well. I said I'll just stay in the room that I already had. We went back to the room and she was very nice. Explained about not having good help and that they had just bought the place and are trying to get things in order. Her and I'm assuming her son who was working the front desk when I checked in, brought a lot of Mr. Clean and cleaned up most of the things that I complained about. There was still more blood spatter behind me but I didn't realize until after they had already left. I hope they clean that afterwards. They changed the bedding on one of the beds as that's all I needed for sleeping. As nice as she was, I cannot recommend staying at this place based on my experience. I stayed there in the beginning of March and have been contemplating doing this review. I don't like to hurt anybody's business but at the same time I wish I knew just how awful this was going to be for me. I hope they find proper cleaning staff and get the rooms into some kind of decent repair and cleanliness. The location to some may be great because it's a busy area but it was so noisy it was hard to sleep. On a good note, the air conditioning unit was incredible! It was so nice and quiet and kept the room warm as I slept on top of the covers knowing what the mattress was like. Might I add that the long hair in the mattress and tub. We're not mine. Room 105 - DISGUSTING dirty tub where owners screamed at me saying it was the water that made all the human skin around the entire inside of the tub, and the mom screamed saying she cleaned the tub...  I asked for a scowering pad for the second room.||||2. and 2nd room (room 218) smoke kept coming in through walls (non smoking hotel) that I had to leave and could not breathe 12:38am.||I have a severe allergic réaction to smoke in closed spaces.||||Motel owners son lied saying he will call the neighbors to stop smoking indoors.||||3.  After I (Lucinda) left room Jan 23 12:38am I called remotely asking motel to call room 218 (Jan 23/2023 1:28-1:34 am). They repeatedly refused to transfer me and hung up on me and then they lied that they had called 218 and no one was answering.||My friend was just diagnosed with cancer and could not just drive away with his cat.||||4. I didn't actually stay the night at this location. My fiance and I arrived at around 2am on the 19th of March, looking for something very inexpensive. At $85.99 there really was nothing comparable. I paid, and we went to the room. Yes, the jokes about Motel 6 were true - the room was baron minus a bed and two night stands. We initially laughed it off, but as we began to turn lights on it became very clear the room hadn't been cleaned in months. There were obvious hand and finger markings all over the bathroom and main room walls in various shades of red. Not blood, I assume, but seriously off putting. I mean, if this is how dirty things we can see are, imagine the areas hidden from sight. My primary concern was bedbugs, but my inspection of the bedding and mattress left me feeling a bit better, as someone had clearly washed the sheets and there were no signs of bugs. What made us ultimately vacate and demand a refund were the two used condoms I happened upon under the bed, just a few feet underneath the pillows. The clerk attending the desk looked embarrassed when I informed him of the situation, but not surprised (which might be the most concerning element to this story). He granted us a full refund and we went on our way. I will never, ever, consider Motel 6 again, and if asked I would advise even my enemies to stay elsewhere. Seriously, embarrassing for a...
