This review covers mainly a terrible experience from customer relations point of view.

Over a week ago, my wife and I ordered ramen noodles here which we love. We had 2 bowls, and it was as great as usual.

More recently, tried to order ramen again. I was told ā€œwe are not serving hot food. No ramen until July 1st. I explained that this was strange as we just had ramen 1 week ago and in fact, I had just put the plastic bowls in my recycling. No one could provide an explanation.

Ok, so we order sushi instead. Order several slick tuna rolls and asked for a few orders of tuna sushi. Everywhere I go for sushi, they understand the maki is a roll, sushi is fish on small amount of rice, and sashimi is fish alone. The person on the phone said yes and gave a price.

When we got home, we found that they had given us tuna maki rolls rather than sushi. I called saying the order was wrong and that we ordered sushi not maki roll. She told me ā€œwe only have rolls or sashimiā€. I said OK, then please give us some sashimi and deliver to us. She said, we’d have to pay for this ourselves.

I then explained that typical customer service was to solve a problem in some way and not at the customers expense. Nothing like that was offered. That is when I explained that I’d be writing this review.

Update: Kame’s response was very reasonable. I brought up my rating to 3 stars.

Training is the issue. The chef that day didn’t say anything about the other chef being away and the hostess lacked training so not her fault.

I had a problem w a sushi order in Florida, and they immediately offered to give my wife and I a free lunch. They said ā€œpls give us a chance to show you our great sushiā€. For $60 they got a customer for life and I gave them a 5 star review because of their response to a mistake.

And by the way, the spicy Tonkatsu Ramen noodles get 4 stars as long as they are making it....

Extremely dissatisfied with this business. Last night I called and placed an order for take-out at 7:40pm. When the cashier finished writing my order, she yelled to the kitchen and the kitchen told her they already closed. Their ā€˜hours of operations’ were open until 8:30pm. What restaurant closes :50 minutes before the scheduled time?

Called today for lunch (opened at 11:30am) and received no answer. I tried 5 times until 12:30pm when I gave up. After reading their reviews, this has clearly been an issue for 5+ years with this business.

Unfortunately, during COVID times, I would rather be spending my money at other local small business who will appreciate customers trying to support local. When their business goes under, I hope they don’t blame the pandemic. It’s clearly their terrible...

I cringe when I walk into this establishment, primarily because of the plastic and decorative material they have hanging directly in front of the main door. I spoke to the staff and explained that with people walking in and out and that stuff hitting people in the face as they enter/exit, etc., it is a great way to spread germs. It's one thing to push or pull open a door by the handle, but when you have people's faces, breath, (possibly mucous), and who knows what else on layers of plastic that you must walk through to enter this establishment....that presents a health risk.

The girl at the counter told me that they wipe it down frequently. I replied by saying that unless it's wiped down after each and every person walks into it, it's probably not being wiped...

The only one star is for the yakibuta (marinated pork); they are thick and tastes good. Kame might be a very good restaurant three years ago, but it isn't now. If I'm paying $26 for a bowl of ramen, I would expect to receive a bowl of ramen that look like at least the one in picture 2. The egg was neither soft-boiled nor cooked in soyo sauce (just half of a boiled egg), and it was cold! What?! There were only very little vegetables in the bowl--some corns, two pieces of baby bok choy, and a little bit bean sprouts. The noodles was not Japanese ramen noodles but similar to egg noodles sold in grocery stores. I would suggest Kame not to treat customers as someone rich and hasn't had ramen before. We know what we are expecting for a bowl of Japanese ramen. So disappointed.

I ordered the salmon rolls, which were delicious and super fresh. The spring rolls were also quite tasty, with a golden and crispy exterior that provides a nice crunch without being greasy. A little pricey for the portion sizes provided, but the food quality is great. I recommend bringing cash, as you get a bit of a discount if you pay using cash rather than card. It also isn’t made super clear online that there isn’t real seating inside (besides a few stools against a small bar by the window), so plan to pick up your food and eat elsewhere. For context, I visited in February, so seating may have changed since then. All in all, definitely worth a visit :)
