We had never been to a Stacked Pancake House and probably won't go again. The food was not good. First, my Wife ordered the chicken and waffles. About 5 minutes after we ordered, they came out and said they were out of chicken. It was only 9:00 Sunday morning... Out of chicken??. So, they asked if they could substitute chicken fingers. Sure, same idea only breaded. I ordered simple, eggs Benedict with a side of hash and a side of peamesl. Our food came fairly quickly even though it was a little busy. Well, the chicken fingers must have been microwaved as it was like chewing on a tire and the breading was like gravel. The waffle machine must have been turned to the hottest setting as the waffles were almost black and super dry. You would think you would get real maple syrup in maple syrup country, but nope. Fake stuff. Real can be ordered for an upgrade. The eggs Benedict were the only good part. The potatoes in the hash were undercooked and they had no flavor. The peameal was so thin I could see through it and it was a very long and narrow piece, almost like bacon. It was full of gristle and not easy to chew. The waitress saw we were not really eating and asked if everything was ok. Even though my Wife said not to say anything, I did. She asked if we wanted it replaced or if we wanted to order different food. I told her we were headed back to the US and had a time scheduled to keep, so we could not wait. She asked if we wanted it boxed up and I laughed and said no. Just bring us the check. She came back sheepishly and very red in the face. She was super apologetic and said the Manager would not take anything off the bill because we obviously ate some of everything and we finished the eggs Benedict. My Wife was already upset that I said something so I didn't push the issue. I paid the bill, tipped 25% (it wasn't her fault) and left upset and hungry. My Wife's chicken had 2 bites, 1 out of two separate chicken fingers. She tried a bite and said it was disgusting so I tried a bite of a different one thinking it might have been a bad piece but same results. She probably had 5-6 bites out of the center of the waffle as that was the most edible part. The eggs Benedict was completely gone and I had maybe three forkfuls of hash. Three bites of peameal, one from each end and I split it half and took one out of the middle. Same idea as the chicken fingers, I was looking for some good part. I'm a good sized guy that likes to eat. My plate was less than 50% gone. It should have been very obvious that we really didn't enjoy our meal. I would have been okay if they charged me for mine and removed my Wife's but to remove nothing and say that... Again, I doubt I'll go back but I hate judging a place on...
Read moreWe went there for the first time on Father's Day so it was busy but we were seated immediately and service/food delivery was quick and accurate. No mistakes in our orders, eggs were done perfectly and coffee was filled regularly.
Our only real complaint was that the quality of food wasn't up to the same standard was other similarly priced breakfast places. My group prefers home fries, bacon and sausages crispier and less greasy/fatty. If you're the same, I'd suggest asking your server for "crispy" for those food items.
My wife had waffles and found them to be the same quality as supermarket-bought frozen waffles (she didn't enjoy them or finish them). I had bacon and eggs and they were correctly made to order (difficult to serve "bad" b&e). My teenage kids finished their meals but said they prefer the food at other places.
Many other reviews here praise the food so our experience may be simply one of different tastes. For us, there just seemed to be a mismatch between the food quality and the price. Because of this, I'd probably recommend going there yourself to make your own conclusions.
Always nice to see new businesses open up and I wish the owners success and their customers a pleasant visit.
After a 2nd visit there today, I'd suggest management get larger coffee mugs and/or coffee carafes. My wife and I never had our coffees refilled. When our meals arrived, we asked for refills but they never came. The waitress never came by for a quality check, did offer a takeout box at the end but still never noticed our empty coffee mugs.
I might seem harsh or some might think we should've reminded a server about our empty mugs right in front of her but I worked as a server for over a decade from breakfast joints to fine dining. I know what it's like.
It was somewhat busy because it was the first day of summer holidays and some parents took their kids out for breakfast (as we did). I know business is hard to predict in restaurants but having one server come in an hour early on a possibly busy day is a good idea imo.
And if you're a server and short-staffed, sorry but it's time to pick up the pace and focus. That didn't seem to be the case today but again, just my opinion.
From now on, we'll go to one of 2 other breakfast places 5 mins away. One for the patio and the other for more consistently good service and quality and...

If pancakes had a royal family, Stacked Pancake House in Kingston would be Buckingham Palace, and Maddy would be the queen! From the moment we walked in, it was clear that we weren’t just eating breakfast; we were about to embark on a culinary journey led by the best server in the galaxy.
Maddy greeted us with a smile that could melt the coldest of hearts and a sense of humor sharp enough to slice through any syrup-induced dilemma. When I mentioned my love for pancakes, she didn’t just nod sympathetically; she practically held a pancake pep rally in my honor. She expertly guided us through the menu, suggesting the “blueberry pancakes” as if she had secretly memorized our breakfast dreams.
Our table became the epicenter of pancake perfection, with Maddy orchestrating a symphony of flapjacks, bacon, and eggs. Her recommendations were so spot-on that it felt like she had a direct line to my taste buds. When the food arrived, it was like a fluffy, syrup-soaked masterpiece that left me questioning why I’d ever settled for anything less.
And let’s not forget Maddy’s unparalleled patience. When I asked for extra napkins because I was drowning in syrup, she appeared instantly, like a pancake-wielding superhero. By the end of our meal, she had transformed what was supposed to be a simple breakfast into an unforgettable experience.
