Current review (original review below)
Full disclosure before I get going. First, Kyle is a friend of mine and I spent time learning from him, and lending a hand in the kitchen now and again in the early stages of Kyle’s Fried Chicken and BBQ. I have also eaten A LOT of his food over the years and am well versed in his culinary offerings. So while I recognize my inherent bias, I also counter that by being one of the people over the years that has given him honest and constructive feedback as he developed his recipes/food.
His food has always been great but great isn’t good enough for Kyle. He strives for something beyond great…”fantastic”…”the best”…whatever you want to call it. It’s been a pleasure to develop our friendship on the same timeline he has been growing his business and perfecting his craft.
I split a Meat Attack platter with a friend tonight and I can say, as objectively as possible, that is was THE BEST food I have had from him ever. Like hands down next level BBQ. Kyle works relentlessly to serve the most delicious and authentic BBQ you will north of the 49th parallel and it shows! Just when you think he can’t top himself he somehow does and everybody wins!
Only that that tops the food is the man himself. Kyle is one of the kindest most genuine people you will ever encounter. His generosity and desire to help build strong communities and fight against food insecurity cannot be unstated. He is quickly becoming a pillar for our greater London community as a whole.
If you’ve never been to Kyle’s, you gotta go. If you haven’t been in a while stop by and I guarantee you he will blow your tastebuds away. Kyle and his crew (big shoutout to the kitchen crew!) are firing on all cylinders and it’s shows in the food!
Thanks for all you do Kyle and thanks for showing me what proper BBQ is all about!
*My 1st review from years ago cause google won’t let you leave more than 1 review per business
Fantastic experience with KFC! Amazing Nashville chicken sandwich (varying degrees of spice available!!) Also gotta try the brisket! Top notch, smoky, tender, always fresh. If you’re in the area do yourself a favour and pop by and see what Kyle is cooking up, I guarantee it...
Read moreI heard great things about the food here, so i brought my kid in to try the brisket and pickle fries.
The price was high so right off the bat i was feeling like a ships captain who'd just seen the Jolly Roger, but i was willing to trust in the words of wonder i had heard about Kyles bbq.
"buzz buzz" the food was ready, i approached the counter to recieve what i assumed would be a bowl of pickle spears and plate of beef... but was shocked when i was handed a bowl filled to the brim with thick slices of juicy beef crusted as black as my ex's heart. the meat was tender and tasted so good I had to force myself to try the pickle fries in between slices of magic cow meat. the order came with pickled onions which i had to ask for more. SO DAMN FLAVOURFUL!!!!
I would certainly not recomend this place for vegetarians... ok, i would, because the food is that good. the pickle fries, which i assumed were pickle "spears", were actually fries topped with a dill sauce and small pickle pieces on top. The combination of pickle fries and perfectly barbequed brisket was interesting to say the least. the swap between sweet dill and spicy brisket was something so good, only the gods of Olympus had ever found such ambrosia. The food here could rehabilitate vegans!
I was still reeling when i got home from the unbelievable flavour made possible by kyles well journeyed knowledge of the best bbq in Canada and the US.
You could probably ignore any reviews under 5 stars, because i assume these people are either trolling cause their lives suck, or just got so used to "chucks roadhouse" that they don't know what REAL meat is supposed to taste like. This will now be the only place i will be going for high caliber BBQ.
I'm sorry for all the extra words and over explaining, however i feel inclined to share with everyone the paradise that i found in this small kiosk in a small brewery in east london. i will be back,...
Read moreWe finally made it to Kyle’s Fried Chicken + BBQ before moving —and wow, it lived up to every expectation. Nestled inside Forked River Brewing Company at 45 Pacific Court, the setting is a relaxed, warehouse-style brewery with craft beers, occasional live music, and a laid-back crowd—perfect for enjoying top-notch BBQ in good company.
From our party of six, five of us chose the brisket sandwich, while our daughter had the chicken tenders. The brisket was smoked to perfection—juicy, tender, with a deep bark reminiscent of Southern BBQ legends. Several local reviewers have called it “the best brisket in town,” crediting its smoke ring and flavor punch as standout factors My daughter’s chicken tenders were just as memorable—big, crispy, and juicy, with a well-balanced seasoning and that unmistakable Alabama-style white sauce that really brought the dish together. We complemented our main dishes with baked beans, coleslaw, and cornbread. The baked beans had a subtle chili powder warmth—deep, slightly spicy, yet not overwhelming—a flavor twist that elevated the dish. The slaw was crisp and fresh, cutting through the richness of the meats, and the cornbread was moist with just a hint of sweetness—excellent all around. The atmosphere at Forked River adds so much to the experience. You order at a small window, grab a beer, and wait for your buzzer. In short: Kyle’s flew past our high South Carolina BBQ benchmarks. From the brisket’s bark and melt-in-your-mouth texture to the chicken tenders dunked in authentic white sauce, plus sides that brought both heat and harmony, every bite felt intentional. The vibe is warm, the owners clearly care, and the reputation in the London food scene is glowing. If you’re chasing real Southern BBQ far from the South, Kyle’s...
