Unfortunately I can’t vouch for the quality of this restaurants food handling processes. There was hair deeply intertwined in the meat of my pork taco which was highly disturbing. After somehow being able to stomach the thought of trying another taco the next taco I received had a strange white lint-looking piece caught onto the tortilla. I was blown away that I could be served two tacos without a triple quality check. Although the service appeared attentive and friendly, there was a lack of hospitality as when I brought the hair up to our server I was not offered anything to make up for the error but most mind blowing of all was that I wasn’t even offered a simple apology. I am sure the waitress was just thrown off as she was super sweet and attentive but it left me feeling uncared for. I had to order myself a shot (better for them I guess) just to feel better about how disgusted I was which was a missed opportunity for hospitality (maybe offer a drink on the house at least?)
When we first came in I was wowed with their interior design & decor (20/10) and friendly service. As time went on my experience unfortunately went downhill. Started with an ask for two simple spicy margaritas which strangely came without any rim (one of the things I was craving and looking forward to in a margarita). I asked for a side of some kind of spicy salt to make up for it and got tajin. There I was having payed almost $20 per cocktail and trying to re-make my own rim at the table. The restaurant was empty at this time so this was yet another opportunity for hospitality that was missed. We ordered the meatballs and tortilla soup to start, the meatballs were delicious and flavourful and probably the best thing we had overall and the only good or impressive part of the entire experience. Even the churros were mediocre, not fluffy as I was expecting them to be. We payed over $100 for two and I honestly felt robbed (not to mention still hungry) after we left. To add an extra strange vibe to the experience, our waitress seemed to be distracted socializing with what seemed like owners and friends of the restaurant sitting at the bar so it felt like they were receiving all the hospitality while we were having a horrific experience. The restaurant was empty besides us and another table and it was a Monday afternoon so I can understand coming by your establishment as an owner with friends, but at least ensure your guests hospitality comes before yours. Signed, someone who’s been in this industry for a...
Read moreWhen it comes to finding the absolute best tacos in Prince Edward County, look no further than La Condesa. This place is a true taco paradise, and I recently had the privilege of experiencing taco nirvana there.
La Condesa has this incredible, laid-back vibe that makes you feel right at home. The decor is a mix of modern and Mexican, with colorful accents that transport you to a sunny Mexican beach town. It's the kind of place where you can kick back, relax, and savor some seriously amazing tacos.
Now, let's talk about the main event – the tacos, man. La Condesa takes taco crafting to an art form. I started with their classic street tacos, and I kid you not, they were like a flavor explosion in my mouth. The meats were tender and packed with authentic Mexican spices. The fresh toppings and homemade salsas added that extra zing that made each bite pure taco bliss.
But it's not just the classics that shine here. La Condesa gets creative with their taco game. I tried their shrimp tacos with a mango salsa, and it was a taste sensation that I won't soon forget. And for all you vegetarians out there, their roasted vegetable tacos are a delight.
And let's not forget about the margaritas, dude. They mix up some of the best margaritas in the County. It's like they've captured the essence of a Mexican sunset in a glass – sweet, tangy, and perfectly refreshing.
But what truly sets La Condesa apart is the friendly and passionate staff. They genuinely care about your taco experience and are more than happy to recommend the perfect tacos and drinks to suit your taste.
So, if you find yourself in Prince Edward County and you're craving tacos that are nothing short of extraordinary, La Condesa is the place to be. It's a taco haven that'll transport you to the streets of Mexico with every bite, and it's hands down the best taco joint in the County. Cheers to La Condesa, where taco...
Read moreGenerally delicious food and cocktails and friendly but somewhat clueless service. The kitchen is a big problem, however. Twice(!) they merely picked off the problematic ingredient I had initially reported to the server and twice(!) the ingredient was found very clearly in or hiding under my food. Management never apologized nor removed the item from the bill. Big no-no. Tres leches cake is non-traditional so don't expect the condensed milk flavour... it's covered in an unsweetened whipped cream or crème fraiche. Avoid the braised beef tacos.
Addendum after seeing management response below: Yes, I ate the replacement taco AFTER removing the cilantro that was clearly visible. Cilantro doesn't taste like soap to me. It tastes like stinky feet. My companion and I immediately addressed the problem ingredient twice with the servers (plural). After that, it's not our responsibility to keep complaining. It's the team's responsibility to offer effective customer service and help us have a better night. We still paid in full and tipped in full but need to emphasize that both the kitchen and management needs to take responsibility when big mistakes occur repeatedly. The server who took the order had assured us that asking for no cilantro was easy and that I only had to avoid ordering 2 specific dishes. The first time she brought out the pork taco, she immediately noticed it was covered in cilantro, and took it back to the kitchen without any communication with us. So, essentially, three consecutive mistakes happened with the same dish.
We really enjoyed the octopus chorizo tostada, shrimp taco, and cocktails. Unfortunately, the flautas also had cilantro on top...
