Hadovka Lakeside Inn — Hotel in Ontario

SCAM: terrible & disgraceful experience with Hadovka Lakeside Inn.||We originally booked through a booking site, however upon further research, this room was falsely advertised as being a “large spacious private room with private bathroom", when in fact it was not a private bathroom, as this bathroom required us to pass a public hallway to get to it.||Upon calling the Inn, we spoke with Tom, who incentivized if we instead book directly through him rather than the booking website, we would be given a “generous discount”. But, this required us to upgrade our room, pay a 25% deposit (strange since the booking website did not require this), and cancel our original booking through their partner website (full refund allotted on this website).||We agreed, and in doing them a favour (clearly, as this prevented him from paying additional fees to this partner website), we kindly asked for an extended cancellation policy as our relative would be delivering her baby any day. He agreed as we assured we’d rebook our stay in the future if we had to cancel.||A couple days later, our relative delivered unexpectedly, and just as we discussed with Tom, we unfortunately had to cancel our trip (however we were still within the adjusted timeframe for their cancellation policy).||Once informing Tom of our cancellation, he unexpectedly responded that he could only return a portion of our deposit, and now we would be charged an additional “3.4%+ $0.15 per transaction” fee. This was not discussed in our phone calls regarding the payment and deposit.||Upon calling Tom to resolve this, he rudely argued and raised his voice refusing this was their “policy”, despite him never informing us. It was apparently written at the “bottom of the email”, yet this was never disclosed through our phone call conversations.||Overall, this has left a terrible taste in our mouth. Tom is clearly operating a scamming business rather than the “friendly & comfortable B&B” he advertises.||We will absolutely NOT rebook, and I highly recommend avoiding this Inn and look elsewhere, to avoid getting scammed just like us. I’m truly shocked by the positive reviews, however I wouldn’t be surprised if many are written by family/friends. AVOID...

Our stay at Gabi and Tom’s B&B was above and beyond our expectations for our long weekend stay in Prince Edward County. For starters, the location, grounds, and food was incredible, the room impeccably clean, amazingly comfortable bed, pillows, and luxurious linens. We took full advantage of the amenities on their spacious property, including enjoying breakfast on their picnic tables, having take-out and snacks in their waterfront gazebo, enjoying drinks in Adirondack chairs on their dock and having nightcaps with them and other guest around their firepit. Our only regret was not heeding their advice of taking their Sivber Swan canoe to a secluded location in Sandbanks Provincial Park, which was highly recommended by the other guests who visit annually. Next time!

Their hospitality began even before our arrival, providing information and tips on how to best enjoy the area, with ways to most enjoy what the County has to offer, including reservation information for Sandbanks, a personalized wine/beer/cider tour itinerary and local restaurant recommendations. While there we were able to take advantage of their hotel style offerings, including take out lunches, wine and beverages for purchase and day trip essentials such as coolers, icepacks and beach/lake gear.

Hadovka B&B is a gem and offers a great PEC experience with a wonderful location walking distance to the center of Wellington, its beach, and a quick drive to the many vineyards in the County. ...

Tom and Gabi were the most amazing hosts! They went over and above to ensure out 3 day stay was absolutely amazing! We were there for our 31st Anniversary and both Tom and Gabi made our anniversary day one of the best ones ever. From the moment we met them it was like we had run into long lost friends we hadn’t seen in years. An instant connection! The rooms where so clean and beautiful with everything needed for our stay! If we needed anything beyond they were right there making it happen immediately! When I couldn’t find a reservation for dinner for our 31st anniversary dinner they went over and above and cooked us the best anniversary dinner ever! Did I mention that Gabi is an amazing Chef and all meals were spectacular and so delicious😊. We have the most fondest memories of our time there and would highly recommend it to all! We plan to return as often as possible! We wish them continued success👏👍🏻❣️There is a beach within walking distance and an incredible ice cream shop across the street were hubby and I stopped for the most delicious cone while sitting on the patio watching the little town doing its thing people watching!
