Lake Country Grill — Restaurant in Ontario

We called ahead to reserve a table for a family meal, and arrived in the early evening to get our drinks and place our orders. My sister-in-law recommended the onion soup as a starter, and I was not disappointed, although I found the soup a bit sweet, the flavour and texture were spot on. If I called out a second thing, it would be that the Swiss cheese they use to top it isn't terribly strong in flavour and would suggest they use an actual Emmental or Jarlsberg.

I ordered the Pork Schnitzel and it arrived presented like breaded pork chops in appearance. Thankfully, boneless. I'm sure I would have loved the sauce had I not just finished the soup, but that mushroom sauce tasted like they had used many of the same ingredients from the onion soup. It was a bit much, but I finished the sauce, pork and the roast vegetables that accompanied the meal. The red potato wedges were my favorite part, and I devoured them. I should note that I've had pork schnitzel in Germany, and these chops never saw the business end of a meat hammer. ;)

I'd eat here again, but rate it four out of five stars. The service was great and the waitress was very engaging and personable which made the service and atmosphere a perfect 5 for our extended...

Had a reservation booked for over a week. showed up and was told it was going to be roughly half an hour. Needless to say didn't dine there.

When i finally did return to dine, my gf and I ordered the schnitzel dinner, and the steak dinner.

The steak was overcooked, the mashed potatoes were simply that, potatoes that had been mashed, no sort of seasoning, butter, or any sort of prep. The Vegetables were also completely unseasoned, and had been cooked for MAYBE a minute on the grill. Overall considering the price tag of the dinner I was expecting a well prepared meal. It seeemed to have been slapped together by someone who has no pride in their work.

Overall incredibly disappointed, I went before I had an event expecting to enjoy a nice steak dinner. I ended up eating a couple bites before sending it back.

On the other hand. The schnitzel dinner was excellent. the portions of both meals were a large size.

Tonight two of my friends and I came in for their Fall Festival dinner. There was a soup or salad, a turkey dinner and pie for dessert oh and don’t forget the fancy hot apple cider drink. Can I just say this meal was FANTASTIC! The soup was a perfectly hot butternut squash with fresh black pepper on it, I could have made a meal out of that🤤. Our server Julie was just so sweet, my one friend is allergic to walnuts and Julie found out that the salad didn’t have any in the “seeds” that came on the salad. We asked if there was possibly any cranberry sauce available and she found some for us no problem. I asked if I could get some cheddar cheese on my apple pie melted and it was perfect! Julie took care of us and made our dinner a wonderful experience. There was musical entertainment tonight as well and he was great. Lake Country Grill never fails me and I recommend this place and the staff...
