We stayed in the “Room 2” in The House Across the Road. There are not really any reviews about Room 2 or pictures that we could find, but the price was not bad, and the location looked nice so we booked it hoping for the best. It was our first time visiting PEC. If you are considering booking the Room 2 at this place, my advice to you would be - DON’T DO IT. Where do I even begin? It faces the front of the house, so you are on the street side; there is a view of the lake. The blind however does not work, it only goes down halfway so you really have no privacy from all the people on the road, going to the restaurants and the cottages. The sheets were clean, but the bed is tiny and they only give you 2 pillows, we wished we had brought extra pillows. There is a sheet and just a very thin quilt. The TV is about 16” with 1 channel (TVO). There is a Keurig however the plug where they have it does not work, and they only gave us 4 small milks, no sugar cream or stir sticks for our 2 day stay. When we went to bed the first night - we almost left when we saw how many bugs were in the room - there were bugs ALL over the ceiling and walls!! We understood that we are in the country, but we didn’t expect that many bugs. The shower is so small and dingy looking, my husband didn’t even want to use it. You might read in other reviews how thin the walls are and how you can hear everything —— which is very true and its actually really terrible. There is a 2 inch gap at the bottom of the door so you can hear everyone in the hallway; and the other room has their bathroom across the hall so you would hear them every time they went to use the bathroom. We could hear the people beside and above us very, very well; they were up until 11:30 at night - we could even hear the couple having..(you know what). That was my last straw. It was so awful. Truly, truly terrible. We wanted to leave so bad but it was late and we were tired and had a long drive home so we stayed but left as soon as we possibly could the next morning. Long story short - this room is way overpriced for what you get. Do yourself a favour if you want a nice experience in the County - spend a little bit more and get a nicer place, one that wont make you feel disgusting! If you do decide to stay here, I highly suggest you bring pillows, earplugs, a privacy screen for the window, cream/sugar for the coffee and something to block the bottom of the door for sound, and...
Read moreMy wife & I booked the "Bayview Bunkie" at Lake on the Mountain Resort. This building is located at the bottom of the mountain right on the Bay of Quinte. This small, 2 level Bunkie is built onto the back of the garage, with the main house right beside it. The website photo's are accurate. The Bunkie unit is nicely laid out and attractive, with a comfortable queen sized bed and bathroom on the lower level as you enter and the kitchen/living area & deck up above. Its well equipped with fridge, microwave, kettle, coffee maker, utensils and TV. A small deck with 2 Muskoka chairs is attached to the upper level with a really nice view of the Bay of Qunite. There is no AC so it can get very hot in the unit. 2 small fans are supplied which was helpful for sleeping at night. Getting down to the water where there is a small dock to sit on is a bit tricky as the hill is steep and ungraded. We ran into a problem with sewage smell in and around the unit. On our first night there we left all the windows open, the 2 fans running plus the bathroom exhaust fan on to try and dissipate it. I reported it to management in the morning who confirmed the site is on septic bed, but we were disappointed there was no follow up after they reported they would send someone out to check on the issue. Overall its a nice spot, good view and location but the smell of sewage kept it from being great. That needs to be addressed to ensure guest have a...
