I have lived in the area all my life, and discovered this quaint little place and have been visiting regularly for quite some time now(years), food has always been good and the prices were great for the meals you got. The waitresses are either efficient or not it's a toss up. Most recently went for dinner with family there was six of us and the main reason we went was because of the food and the prices, when we arrived I was shocked to see a price increase not because of a small price increase but everything is $3-$4 more expensive which adds up, there was no difference in decor or plate size just the price increase, it cost us close to $200 and the waitress forgot to give my husband change back for a $20 there was no arguement about it but luckily we remembered or it would have cost us $220 and all six of us had to share one small basket of complimentary nacho chips, you'd think for a large party they could spring for 2 baskets. Wasn't really impressed! My husband, a friend and I returned for drinks and an appetizers recently we paid for the munchie platter which is now $19 and was disappointed in the lack of items on the plate for $19, the waitress forgot to bring us our other appetizer and when she did it wasn't what we had ordered, we spent $100 and left feeling hungry? My husband and I could have gone to the keg for the same price. I have been to this restaurant enough to come to recognize the owner and every time we go he seems to be there at first I thought well that's great, but then more and more I noticed every time we went he was there drinking. I am starting to wonder if the price increases has to do with the owner's bar tab? Just stating my opinion. In all the years we have been going to this place(atleast once a month) the owner has never recognized us as return customers, not really great business practice! My husband and I regularly support our local small businesses as we feel strongly about putting back into the community, but in this case I may have to think long and hard about how I am going to spend my next...
Read moreThe spicy Caesar here is to die for! It was absolutely delicious!
The waiter brought out complementary chips and salsa. The salsa tastes great with heavier hints of freshly grown tomatoes. The chips had seasoning on them and were warm and crispy.
We then got a bowl of salad with a vinaigrette based dressing, neatly presented, tasty and refreshing.
We started our order with Antojitos which is a black bean based dip with salsa and a healthy helping of melted cheese on top. The plate was neatly decorated with deep fried round tortillas that were seasoned heavily. It was delightful! Iâm not a bean fan but the black beans here were the best ones I have tasted. Mix that with that fresh salsa and cheese and you have a real winner here!
My main dish was a beef chimichanga. It was topped with salsa and sour cream. I ordered a side of salsa which Iâm glad I did. The salsa topping was very light on this dish. Furthermore, I requested jalapeños in the chimichanga which was sparsely noticeable. I also wish there was more cheese. It was still a good meal, but I feel these changes would have elevated it. The chimichanga came with a small helping of rice and mashed black beans. Both of which were tasty!
Overall, this was a great recommendation. The service was phenomenal! Our waiter was excellent and makes one mean spicy Caesar. I hope to make it back here one day to try a tirade of other great looking dishes. One of the better Mexican restaurants I have tried in some time. Definitely check...
Read moreFood was amazing and large portions. It was very busy but service was not attentive and very slow as I got my food after a few other parties that came in l9ng after myself that had gotten their food before me. I was the only one dinning and the other tables who had gotten their food before me had more than one person and I had a waitress who was not available majority of my being there it took an hour to get my food and I had to ask for the extras that I had asked for when I ordered it first . Then 2 more times I had to ask . There was live Mexican music that was nice and there's a patio and wheelchair access which was nice as I have a walker . The food was a bit on the higher priced like my bill was over $50 for taco salad bowl with beef and steak i got charged more for steak strips than it was for an entire steak dinner so I was not happy about that my taco salad was under $20 and I got 2 extra guacamole dips and one sour cream and a gingerale. If I go back I think I will order the steak dinner and the taco salad i believe the waitress charged me $14 for the bowl of guacamole when it was only about an oz of it. But yes steak dinner $21 and taco salad bowl $14 or $16 and gingerale would be more food for the same as I paid for one taco salad ridiculous but I should have spoke up and not given the...
