Northway Restaurant — Restaurant in Ontario

I wanted to give the restaurant the benefit of doubt and not post about my recent experience however after waiting a week, 2 emails with no response and a phone call to the restaurant with no follow up I feel they do not take customer service seriously. Being a regular customer up to this point, my partner and I went to Northway in hopes of enjoying a nice dinner. What we got was the extreme opposite. Our waitress was disinterested, unapologetic and seemed to be just going through the motions. We first ordered drinks from the bar and my drink came with a little extra...a bug floating in the middle of the glass. I discretly called the waitress over to tell her and I was meant with a "Yup, there is. I will have to get you another one." No apology. Our dinner came next, 2 orders of chicken parm and it was disgusting. The sauce was a brown colour and tasteless. The chicken was burnt so badly that it was too hard to cut through with a knife. Both meals were left on the table barely touched. When our "attentive" waitress returned to our table she gave a quick comment of "I guess you're done." and took our plates away. We paid the bill in its entirety, left the restaurant and drove up the road to have dinner elsewhere. This experience and lack of communication from management has left us not wanting to give this restaurant any more business. As I previously stated, till this experience we were regular customers of Northway and would always recommend it to family and friends. Never again. Wasn't looking for anything free but a response, acknowledgement and at the very least an apology would have been professional.

UPDATE - After 2 emails and a phone call directly to the restaurant I have received zero response. Apparently this is the standard of this restaurant and they do not value their customers. I highly recommend the health unit pay a visit to this establishment if food served with bugs in it is their standard. Inspect your food and drinks carefully if you choose...

Ate here a couple weeks ago with my nana for BREAKFAST, she was hyped all morning for the homefries as was i. We arrive and were placed at a sticky table by the kitchen window that was quite loud. The waitress was beyond rude to both of us and they didn't have anymore homefries at maybe 11:00AM? Said we could have french fries with our breakfast instead. At this point, we are both very frustrated . I ordered my breakfast with a side order of the breakfast poutine or something along those lines, hollandaise on homefries and i said that fries were fine with that. Once i got my order, the fries that came with my breakfast was turned into a poutine, no side of what i asked for .The scrambled eggs were cold and the toast was soggy .Once we finished our meal, i had left a slice of ham still on the plate because i was full. The waitress had rudely commented that i should have ordered something smaller and with less food so it wasnt such a waste . Very very terrible service, she came to our table every 2-3 minutes to ensure everything was okay and if we needed anything changed .I get it she wants to give good service, but she would interrupt conversations i was having with my nana and came more than we think she should have .Paid $33.00 and it was a total waste in our opinion.....

We haven't been to the Northway Restaurant since prior to COVID (2020) but decided to go out for breakfast/brunch. We were greeted quickly once we entered and seated accordingly. Our server, Grace, offered coffee while we were removing our coats. The coffee was hot and tasted like a coffee should taste. We ordered off the breakfast menu. Let me tell you, we were very I.pressed with the menu items and the reasonable prices. Our food arrived and it was piping hot, delicious and plentiful. It was so good that we asked to see their lunch/dinner menu. Again, we were amazed by the numerous choices offered and the reasonable pricing. Grace checked on us throughout our meal. While still sipping on my coffee, I decided to have a Caesar. I generally don't have a Caesar that early in the day, but the ad on their wall was very enticing, and it was good too. We sat in the area to the right and enjoyed how open it was to the rest of the restaurant. We haven't been there for a while, but they have refreshed the entire place, and it felt very welcoming. I strongly recommend this restaurant for anyone who wants a great meal and for seniors on a budget. We will be back for dinner and we'll bring our friends too. Thank you for such a...
