Perfect Meat Bowl — Restaurant in Ontario

Went to Fried Skewers on Dundas in downtown London today for lunch and had what was claimed to be the 'perfect meat bowl'. While I am no meat bowl expert, this was certainly a delicious custom made concoction with a huge variety of options.

You get a big bowl to fill with your choice of dozens of unique and exotic ingredients including various balls of meat, fungi, veggies, and much more. There is a minimum of 400g and I was shocked that my first pile didn't quite make it so I added some more to my mix which included beef balls, sausage, shrimp balls, lobster balls, crab, spam, 2 types of mushrooms, black fungus (crazy sounding but delish) and a pile of Chinese cabbage and baby Bok Choy. You then choose 1 of 4 broths (I got braised) and can add some more meat for a few extra dollars so I chose pork slices. I might forego that next time and save a few bucks. They then take your mix and cook it all up and put it in the broth with some garlic, cilantro, etc. what came out was this beautiful, steaming soup. They served it with some drink that was apparently a traditional Chinese beverage but tasted more like really sweet Kool aid. I don't like sugary drinks that much so I could pass on that next time.

Other guests had similarly delectable looking bowls in addition to their namesake skewers which I will try next time. All looked tasty and plentiful. With extra meat ($6ish?) it came to $23 including 15% tip and automatic credit card fee added at point of sale. 9.5/10 for taste and 10/10 for...

Food was absolutely delicious. Reason for a four star is because I didn’t feel so welcome. I think the customer service could work a little bit more to be friendlier seems to be a Little judgemental.

I decided to grab two iced teas from the fridge Didn’t open them when The server brought our food. I told her I actually don’t want these iced teas she kinda look at me and was about to say no, but then I told her we didn’t open them she rolled her eyes and said OK I just got done work and sometimes I do construction on the job site but not always so I walked inside a little dirty, on Dundas. I don’t know if they thought I was a homeless person or not and not much welcoming.
