Swiss Chalet — Restaurant in Ontario

I have no idea why I keep considering giving this place a second chance. 3 times in a row we always get our order super late, and/or wrong.

Today, pickup was set for 6:28pm, we got it at 7:05pm and it wasn't even correct. Plus, after we waited in the waiting area for 30 min (because we were actually on time), the person behind the desk picks it up and yells out the name of the order like it had been there this whole time and they never noticed.

Seriously this place is run worse than Fyre Festival.

May 14th 2023 Edit: We decided to try this Swiss Chalet again for Mother's Day because my mother and grandmother enjoy their food. I set up a pickup order the night before, for the 14th at 5:15pm. Now for a holiday, I always expect food to be a few minutes late so this time with me waiting 25 minutes, that part didn't bother me. What DID bother me however, was how not a single worker came up to the takeout desk to address anyone of us waiting in line. There were 9 groups of people waiting before any of us were even acknowledged as being there. I kept my annoyance to myself, however some others sure as heck didn't. It was quite funny to watch. I always feel bad for workers on a busy day, but the absolute bare minimum of acting like the customer exists, I feel should be an obvious thing to do. Unfortunately this goes right along with my last experience there as well. I enjoy the food for what it is, but since every experience there is frustrating, I can't suggest anyone go there unless they have a super good coupon or something. Really sucks too, I like...

Went for early supper 4 us anyway, 5.15p.m. the place looked kind of busy, after sitting twiddling our thumbs 4 at least 15 min. a server approached us with the menus, my wife ordered ice tea, and I asked just 4 a water 4 now, when our server came back with our drinks, we placed our orders, we ordered the special advertised on T.V. the 2 an dine 4 $14.99 except we had the quarter chicken breast instead of the legs, cost extra but we didn't mind, my wife had rice 4 her side, and I had the fries, so here we are shooting the breeze while waiting 4 our meals 2 arrive, others in our area who were seated after us, our getting their meals and we are still waiting 4 ours, almost 20 min. later, I finally flagged down someone and complained, about 7 min later we finally got our meals without any apology 4 the long wait, I must say though the chicken was excellent, and the portion size was nice... The downer was we had 2 be somewhere at a certain time, after our meal, no way can I find my server, and pardon my expression, but the others are running around like chickens with their heads cut off, I finally got up and flagged someone down with some authority, and explained I needed the check a.s.a.p. as I had 2 leave, after looking after us promptly we left, we were told that because it was the last days 4 there special, it was extra busy, no excuse as far as I'm concerned, I left a decent tip only because the food was good, but was a little disappointed with the over all dining experience, so that's why I'm giving...

Worst experience I have had to date at Swiss chalet. Myself and a friend went for dinner tonight after 15 minutes of waiting to be seated and several servers looking at us we were finally seated at a dirty table. Our waitress walked by us several times before finally stopping to take our dinner order and we had not even ordered drinks yet. We asked our table be washed as the red jelly on the table was not enough of a giveaway that the table needed to be cleaned. We got our waters and that was the last our waitress came to our table. They were not busy maybe 10 15 people max and 3 servers. A lady by us ate her appetizer and waited 20 minutes for someone to come to her table and when asked when her dinner may be ready they said some people have been waiting 35 minutes. We waited another 30 minutes the girls beside us paid their bill and the waitress just left the debit machine and did not come back to them but was standing around. The couple behind us complained about the service and his partner with special needs having issues after waiting 10 minutes for dessert. Most guest were going and having to chase down the servers for bills. In total we were there 1 hour seen our server all of 2 minutes and only received water before walking out with no dinner. Having worked in the restaurant industry I could understand if the place was busy but the wait staff were just standing around. And we're very rude when people complained about the service.
