I am not the first to experience this kind of behaviour there are other reviews too like this.

I visited this restaurant today as an Uber Eats delivery driver. Since it was my first time at the location, I was unfamiliar with the layout. When I arrived, the reception area was empty, so I proceeded further into the restaurant where more staff members were present.

Unfortunately, I was met with an unexpectedly hostile response. A staff member wearing glasses, who seemed to be a waiter, suddenly shouted at me from behind, asking, "Sir, what do you want?" I calmly explained that I was there to pick up an order for Uber Eats. She went to the pick-up area and said here is the pick up so I went over to verify the order.

As I began to look for the receipt(which was missing) to verify the items, she abruptly yelled, "Sir, sir, don’t touch the food, don’t touch it!" I was confused, as she had indicated that this was the order I needed to pick up. When I asked for clarification, she explained that she had said, "Here’s the pick-up," not "Here is your pick-up."

The interaction left me quite bewildered 😵‍💫. I understand that English might not be our first language and some response might sound rude but she was definitely rude and judgmental. As a waitress, it’s important to communicate politely and respectfully. While I recognize the need to verify drivers and that stressful environments can affect behavior, this treatment was neither professional nor courteous. As a delivery driver just trying to do my job, I was disappointed by the lack of respect and clarity. Our experience at Thuan Kieu in London, ON was the worst we’ve had anywhere in years. Pho is bland, takes almost an hour to come and service is bad. Save your time, money and sanity and go to Vietnam, Tamarine or Pho Lee instead!

Poor service and poor etiquette just killed everything. We waited almost an hour to get seated and then another 45 minutes for the pho soups to come. The staff were very unorganized. When we checked in on what was taking so long with the food, the server said “well did you order soup? If you did, that’s going to take long, we’re backed up.” so rudely and no apologies. I told her that “if it was going to take this long, they should let everyone know at the time of ordering”. What made it worse, was witnessing servers being very accommodating and extra kind to the Caucasian patrons persistently checking in and apologizing for the delays. We couldn’t even get anyone’s attention to simply ask for water (which should come right away upon being seated) or for the status of the order. When the pho bowls came, still no apologies and the pho broth was bland. Two hours in this place and we left disappointed, offended and hungry. What a horrible experience! Two whole hours to change this experience and they only continued to disappoint. We are from Toronto and have many pho places here throughout the GTA we take family to, we also frequent restaurants, mom-and-pop restaurants and even have favourite food dives and never has service been this BAD. Eat here! Seriously, do yourself a favor and treat yourself to a great tasting meal in a relaxing environment. Honestly, I'd come back even if the food was half as good as it is just because the staff is so friendly and amazing. Each and every one of them is nice, professional and you can tell they care about your experience from the moment you come in to the moment you leave.

I come in sometimes twice a week. I actually love getting my meal and saying hi to all the friendly staff. That's not something I normally enjoy elsewhere. They always have a smile for me (and everyone else) that makes my day. The food is always fresh and prepared with skill. You can order online or over the phone ahead of time so the wait is minimal, but as I mentioned, it's actually one of the few places I don't mind waiting as the staff is awesome.

The food is top notch too, prepared when you order exactly how you ordered it. In my 3 years coming here not ONCE have they ever messed it up and they can get quite busy. The meal has always been hot and great - not mediocre or just palpable like most fast food places. It's a crime to call this place 'fast-food' btw, it's great food served fast. It's also a great place to bring your family, friends or date and if that date falls through, it's also a fantastic place to eat solo as well. If you can't tell I'm quite fond of this place. As much as I hate waiting in line I'd be doing London a great disservice if I didn't share this jewel of a restaurant.
