Wow. Need to update this after what i just received on delivery!! (And have experienced all month in person too btw). But this was the final straw!! I'm upset yes, but also sad a place I love with a great local feel would do this.. My review far below, is how I felt last year.. I will leave it (for now), but I sincerely hope the owner reads This updated one, and how the staff are treating people. Please look at my pictures added below dear owner..::: Does this look like good customer service??! All I asked in my instructions was "easy on the mustard and onions"(which it comes with)... sorry, are the ingredients the sandwich comes with More strenuous if I want less of them?? How rude! I even said please with a smiley face.. Not to mention, the whole sandwich menu you can design yourself like subway, but this ONE sandwich cannot be changed?? Really? Um no. Because when I ordered it in person 3 days ago, I wasn't given ANY hassle. Its just less of something.. But they felt the need to write That on my sandwich?? And then overload it with so many onions it was spiteful!?? Look at the pictures guys...Do you really want staff like that?.. Lately there has been these 2 new young girls when we go (in person), weekdays, usually lunch or mega early dinner, and they are rude everytime. No smiles, short answers.. but I have no clue if this was one of them, so I put the date and time at the end of this unhappy review in hopes the owner will speak to them or do something.. I don't even see the familiar nice staff I know these days??
I still cannot deny i love the food there, like LOVE. But does the manager or owner know these 2 young girls are behaving this way?! I hope she sees this and does something about it. My favorite part of the business besides the largest, yummy, soup variety Ever, was the people. The feel. Homemade. Community vibe. The local sense. I guess thats gone now.. but I hope not for good.. Todays date is Mar.4.21. Lunch time. The staff that did this has to go or be seriously spoken to. I only hope you agree... This wasn't kind, or friendly, or even explained with a friendly note or smiley face. Think about it, to just be bold and do that to someone because you can't see there face?? And we are Huge regulars.. :( I'll gladly adjust my review if things change or this is addressed. Thank you
Old review from over a year ago: This location is so consistent and good (Huron and Highbury). Sure, I could tell you which items are best, but that's more of a personal preference. Lol The creamy soups are always a 10, and one worth mentioning trying, but is only available certain days, is the Harvest Apple cheddar! To die for! It's like a potato soup with a few other veggies, but has just a hint of sweetness from the apple that nicely offsets the savory flavour. The broccoli salad is my fave, and I've made an effort to try most of them! Not a big fan of the quinoa salad, but only because some of the veggies get soggy. Oh well. I still think the whole menu is a big success! My advice to the team there: keep up the great work! (And consider getting bacon as an add on to sandwiches.. it's often a desire by many...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreFirst time at this location. I walked in behind a party of three. They held the door open for me, which was a kind gesture even though we are in the COVID times. When I entered the store I made sure to keep my distance from the family, even though I was wearing a mask, as were they. Unfortunately I can't say the same for the soup scooper. I do believe if you are handling food, do your part and wear a mask. That's my first issue with this chain. This doesn't seem to be a policy at any of there locations. However, my review isn't about the chain, it's about this location.
When I walked in, there were markings on the floor that all of the sudden just stopped. As the party ahead of me was ordering and moving down the glass, I started to walk towards the sandwich section of the counter. Being careful to keep my distance, as I take the COVID situation very seriously, and take all the precautions recommended. So as I move over to the back of the restaurant, the girl working (while scooping the other parties soup) yells at me, "Wait behind the line, for social distancing!" I was shocked, how many little particles did you just spew from your mouth into there soup! Wear a mask! I respectfully moved back, quite embarrassed, I was nowhere near crowding the family. They moved closer to where I was, to pay for their order. So I yelled over to the young girl behind the counter,"Excuse me miss, now that they are less than 6ft away from me, would it be alright to move to the glass?" She nodded her head, yes. After they left, I kindly told her that I didn't realize that I had to stand behind that tape, there should be a sign right there stating that. She rudely said, "There is a sign on the door!" Now earlier in my review, I mentioned the kind party of 3 opened the door for me...so I saw no sign. I tried telling her that, but she wasn't having it. She started to ramble on it's the same everywhere, blah blah blah blah...she was rude! All I said back was, it's not the same everywhere. Honestly most businesses are not yelling at their customers, mistakes can happen and this young girl (who hasn't experienced much of the "real" world) decided to go on a power trip and tell someone who held the door open with a Clorox wipe, wearing a mask, and being respectfully distanced from the other customers, to back up to a line. I will not be visiting this location again. Teach your staff how to be kind to the people supporting your company, and for goodness sake make them wear masks. And before you start thinking, oh, she's just a Karen...I'm a 31 year old, kind woman who was scolded at by a 20 something about COVID safety. Girl...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreJan 2/2020 - I go to the Huron location quite often, I went just shortly after 8pm & got the Souper size of the Turkey Chili & jambalaya and a medium tuna and macaroni salad. When i got home and decided to eat around 11pm the soup was that soup, it had no meatballs, barely any chicken if that's the other shredded meat, it was 80-85% just liquid it was not even full to the top it was about almost 2inch from the top, they never seem to have rice which is suppose to be added if requested, most times I get it on the side and they will give less soup which I understand. The one girl never seems to want to work and hides in the back and when she was out very briefly she was on her phone, there was 3 customers after me and they are to busy with closing instead of serving the customers. The very lovely African American was so pleasant she has been there for around 2 months and she still struggles but she doesn't complain and I stated get the other one out to help you and its like she was afraid to ask. I always tip no matter what $2.50 I don't think the one should be punished for the other lack of work.
I looked on the website so I could email the location and no contact info. When I had an issue about 10 months ago when I left my order there by a mistake it took them 4 days to contact me as they stated they are not allowed to access the voicemails.
So if an manager actually reads this before I can get a call through or back into the location it be nice if you provide a customer service email.
As of today Jan 29/2020 no one has called me or even responded to this review. I've been in 5 other times and I get told that are busy or that only managers or owner can take off voicemails.
I will update this once it gets resolved. Love the fresh soup but I wish they would have just regular chili enough with just the Turkey Chili. The Jumbayla is so good and the macaroni and tuna salad š„ is just like my grandmothers how she made it just minus...
