Let me start by saying, I'm a consistent supporter of the Timmy's "double-double" legacy. However, no amount of sweetness will quickly erase the lack of friendliness and clear rudeness I recently experienced at this location.
On visit #1, I visited this Tim's one morning around 9:00 a.m. When I entered the store, I was shocked to hear not one but both managers loudly expressing their concerns about the lack of manpower at the front counter. It appeared one of the servers was on their way home for the morning. Instead, the managers went into power trip mode and yelled/harped on that employee from across the store to come back and cover the register. Both managers continued a lengthy chat and then proceeded to walk out for a smoke. In my book, a good manager never asks their employees to do something they're not prepared to do first.
The next afternoon, on visit #2 I pulled up to the drive-thru to place my order around 4p.m. I was greeted buy a very tired sounding, mumbling, and soft-spoken voice. I was asked to repeat my order three times, each time the mumbling became worse and intelligible. Before repeating my request a fourth time (in an slightly frustrated, much louder, and well enunciated voice), I asked the server if they were speaking in English (as what I was hearing was beginning to sound very foreign) and ultimately, if they could also possibly speak up. Finally the order was placed.
Fast forward to the actual drive-up window, where I was greeted by the shift supervisor who already had their head out the window and proceeded to yell, yes yell, at me. I was told "you aren't allowed to talk to our employees like that" and, in no uncertain terms, because of my "hostile attitude" they would not be serving me that day.
It was explained that they could not hear me inside and the employee I was speaking to was having a "bad day." The window was then shut before I could take the opportunity to ask my order be canceled.
Folks, I realize no one or no company is perfect and I have waited tables, worked fast food, cleaned the nastiest toilets and bathrooms, and have pumped gas. These jobs helped me to learn and create a work ethic, helped me build character, and helped me understand basic business concepts like the Platinum rule. Unlike the Golden rule, the Platinum one reminds that success in business is built by "treating others as THEY wish to be treated." Simply put, learn to walk in your customers' shoes and treat them with respect.
To the team at the Brockville Tim Horton's, I wish you hopeful continued success, and pray someday you'll respect this business principle before the lack of it, and Karma, cost your location jobs...
Read moreDiscriminative behaviour at this location (On Sunday Oct 17th, 2021):
I did a quick stop here on my way back to Toronto to get a coffee. I was discriminated while ordering. The one who was taking my order was very friendly and smiling with her fellow white Canadians right before and right after me but once I wanted to order she started to act with attitude and not only she was not friendly but made me feel very uncomfortable that I have not seen at any Tim Hortons Before. Using sentences like "I need you to move here right now", then again "I need you to move there right now" just to give me a cup of hot water! like she is talking with someone inferior that doesn't understand anything and needs direct supervision to take his order! while serving happily to others with no such attitude and requests! She made me feel uncomfortable by her discriminative action.
When I brought up her discriminative behaviour and asking why she only talks to me like that and not with other customers she changed the subject and simply shrugged it off with typical Covid excuses.
I haven't seen such discriminative behaviour at any other locations and Tim Hortons should address this. All Customers, regardless of their racial background should be treated equally and...
Read moreBad. Just bad. I've been here maybe six or seven times and every time something has gone wrong. The only reason I kept coming back was because of the super convenient location right off the 401. That's about the only positive this location has, if you show up when the Sun is up, the line to get in the drive through is usually across the parking lot, and you have to check your order carefully, forgotten donuts, incorrect coffee and toppings are common. At night they don't have anything. They are open, and the menu tells you to try all these different food items, but at 3 am they don't have any of their 'Food machines,' as the woman put it, on. I ordered a steeped tea, and had to end up dumping it out. They forgot the sugar, (which I can normally put up with,) and it tasted like it was 80% just added hot water. Why the hell are they open if they don't have anything to sell? Having worked at Tim Hortons that handled things better, greed and apathy are the only reasons that comes to mind. Frankly I hope the owner has a bad day. Don't respond to this review with a "Ohh were sorry you are disappointed" or whatever canned corporate response you put on reviews, just do better or...
